The US is a plutocracy, the rich own the politicians and they buy the elections. On all the major issue's such as economy, foreign policy, military, banking, Wall Street, taxes, regulations etc there is few if any differences, instead the 2 party's make abortion and gay rights into major issue's when in reality they are very, very minor issue's in the scale of things.

the politicians also always buy votes from the voters by promising more and more "freebees" - guess how bush got his second term? he promised free drugs to senior citizens (medicare plan D) that he KNEW the country could not afford. this helped accelerate the national debt by another trillion dollars

I just read some more comments and find that most of you are dwelling in some kind of ideological bubble and can't see reality through that bubble. You people are freaking nuts! Trying to post a thoughtful comment here is obviously a complete waste of time. I'm out of here!

Socialism in the end always works out this way - everyone gets poorer except those that have government connections (cronies) and those who work in the government.
@Mitjitsu10 жыл бұрын
Socialism in any form is immoral, as it steals from one group at gun point to give to another and then calls it "justice". It can only work if one group has been proven to have benefited unfairly at another groups expense, but most of the time it isn't the case. Even then it should never be used as a long term policy. It's essentially giving all the people who got A's and B's a C and the people who got D's and F's a C. Under that system all groups would be disincentivized.

Mitjitsu yup exactly. i'm not against charity, but government monopoly on charity (welfare programs) become the biggest and the most dangerous political tools that only impoverishes and demoralizes the general population in the end.

Ozymandias when you give a small group of schmucks that you call "government" the power to confiscate money from one group of people to another by force, it's ALWAYS goiing to end badly, trust me. except for those small group of people and their cronies.

Trish House Being able to own land, shelter and land resources is not a right. However, it is a right that the state can't take them away from you if are the owner. Very few people live in desperate poverty, and equally few live in excessive luxury. So I don't buy the, "why should someone have this when others have that argument." We don't live in a predatory capitalist society; we live in a crony capitalist society. Where we have big government and mega corporations who have strong political links to the government.
