So excited we kind of laid eyes on the little person, a reflection in Dad's Sun Glasses being held by mum and then a shadow after dinner on the way back to the aircar being held by dad.

Nice work. I used to fly out to the islands on the west coast of Scotland; Mull for dinner was a particular favourite. This brings back memories. With that experience in mind, a suggestion: Consider whether you should WEAR those lifejackets for departure (if not for arrival), when heading out over the lake like that. An engine failure at 2-300' is going to put you in the drink before you have time to find them, much less put them on. I assume Little One's car seat will float.

Thanks for sharing your day!! I'm so glad that you are enjoying this new life. My husband is a pilot as were his parents. His dad was a commercial bush pilot for most of his life. My son had his first flight in a 182 at 3 weeks of age. It's amazing how easily little ones take to it. Oh, the memories.... Enjoy your new hobby!!!! The fly-in restaurant was a lovely touch.

I appreciate the effort you guys put into educating us in all aspects of building a life: the home, the food, the sustainable lifestyle that is clear cut and straight forward. You’ll probably hunt and eat game in the future and that won’t appeal to everyone. But you also love to garden and appreciate the wildlife surrounding you. You’re doing what you love, flying and you’re bringing us along for the ride. I just want to say thanks. No pressure in the family aspect, its your choice and as a fan, I fully support you guys! God bless you always! Much love.

A great day and special that you can do it in a light aircraft into the grass strip for dinner with the family. Not many countries in the world where you can do that. Constructive flying food for thought: notice that you are in the roll out with the flaps up. Somewhere someone must have said that this puts more weight on the wheels for braking. Landing flaps are drag, not lift devices. Refrain from such switch flipping (flap handle) during a critical phase of flight. As well, an unattended airplane for any length of time, especially a light aircraft, needs to be chocked. With no ramp handler you remove the chocks as the last thing before climbing in. Trust in the parking brake falls into an unnecessary risk category. All the best and fair winds.
@PatrickPoet5 жыл бұрын
That big helicopter looks like it would blow your plane over if it landed that close to your parked plane! Your discussion of being happy wherever you are was very Buddhist. They teach that you find joy in the moment and that none of the things we chase for happiness bring happiness. Looking into the future for happiness can make you miss real happiness now. See, that's just like what you said! lol! p.s. love you guys I wonder if pontoon planes fly in there
@NelloCambelli5 жыл бұрын
Like the paper charts as back up. Now time to get your IFR ticket punched.. Having the rollout camera is exceptional for post flight review. Mishandling cross winds near the ground on landing and rollout can become exhilarating. Hellicopters spin their wings rather than propeller for it is the angle of the spinging wings attack angle that generates lift and forward movement.
