Had the opportunity to try out a ‪@WolfeRidgeSplitters‬ 17VS vertical log splitter to see how it could help mini firewood production.

Nice that you were able to help out the Wolfe Ridge gang and get to use the 17VS in exchange. That is great production of the mini firewood for that period of time!

It benefits them as well. Videos made talking about it and showing it off. Then people like me see it and want It!

You could make a jig for holding your wood (😂) while splitting. It was nice of Chris to repay a favor for a favor 👍

Great for you Dan on making your Mini Firewood Splits. So Nice of Bob Nelson (Great Guy) to let you use it for a few Days. I hope to start bagging some next year and selling it, Bagged only. Be in Touch, either see you tomorrow at the Podcast or on Thursday. Bad Storms for us Later. Getting set up for That. Ron from the Woodyard in Duanesburg NY. PS, Almost Got in trouble Sunday as I did to much, but alright.

Hi Dan That Wolfe Ridge 17 BS is just What you Need in the Wood Yard and the Can to Put your Mini Splits in is right There for Easy Production ‼️👍

Hi Dan QQQ What do you Charge for the Mini Split Bundle s I think You Might have a Great Machine to Work with My Only Concern is you Really have to be Alert with the Wedge and your Hands So Close By with your Foot Pedal Operating the Controls i think Maybe the Only adjustment I think Wolfe Ridge Should Make Would be to have a Cever Belt on the Table Circle around in a Tray to keep the Wood from Falling Out and have a Joy Stick to Operate the Wedge That Way you Could Run it Fast and it Would be a lot more Safer and More Productive just like a Assembly line just keep Running the Pieces around the Track and Splitting the Mini Wood Till you get the right Amount of Splits 👍

Oh yes you have to really watch what you are doing…it’s definitely not a something you want to try to split in a hurry.

Mini firewood definitely requires precise controlled splits. A vertical splitter is ideal.

I'd have a 17VSC if the deal hadn't blown up for a couple of reasons. Mostly because I added up the interest payments and that added up to a 7000# paid for dump trailer!

Why doesn't the WolfRidge bagger empty onto the platform? After seeing a few wood hounds with it I think it would be better production to have it land on the plate. Just an observation. To bad there isn't a smaller version of a vertical splitter on the market - that would be perfect for what you are doing. Stay safe.

9/10 times its cause of how close that table is to the turn of the bucket itself. You also need a place to set your bag down to tie is unless you lime being bent over everytime!!
@waynetharp
@waynetharp Ай бұрын
I think the table is also counterweight for the whole unit,also. It keeps it from being tippy with all the weight on one side.

Is there any way to adjust the initial height of the wedge lower to work more safely? Also, your small wood was stringy today...

There is a stroke limiter on the side of beam. Don't know if there is a 'max.' limit to deck. Edit: Just watched Bob's demo vid again; looks like it can be adjusted down to 12" - 14" off of deck.

Although it is a very nice machine.... the time required vs output and quantity of sales...... seems too unproductive. Regardless....it is still impressive.
