Hi from a new subscriber that’s enjoying your episodes. I just wanted to tell you that Jaxx is the spitting image of my beautiful pup of 17yrs, Emitt. Emitt was a Jack Russell Terrior and had a sister Candice. We also had an Italian Greyhound named Fredo who was 12. Unfortunately I lost ALL 3 pups this year, within a 5 month period. Just devastating. I miss them terribly. When I saw the first video of you camping with Jaxx, it brought back such wonderful memories of me camping with Emitt. He LOVED to camp with me and all the things that Jaxx does with you, Emitt did with me. He was my camping buddy. The breed is perfect for outdoor activities like camping. Super smart, loyal, athletic and tenacious. Also super stubborn and head strong at times. I look for all your videos with Jaxx! Thanks for sharing and bringing back some wonderful memories for me. Jaxx is a beautiful, sweet pup and I hope you have a long, happy life together.

Hope I'm not out of line with this idea. In 9 years or whatever it may be when John's son turns 18. Sending the axe to him for his birthday. He said he's too young for it now but it would be kinda cool if he's still into the outdoors when he's older and the axe goes full circle.

TA Outdoors when my son was younger he had a bit of a problem with fire lighting I think a lot of young kids do but we kept finding ing matches and candles around the place like under his bed it was a bit of a worry so I spok to our local rural volunteer fire brigade and they advised teaching him how to light a fire safely so his grand father bought him a axe for his seventh birthday and he sowed him how to split firewood how to care for his axe and talked to him about not chasing his sister with it we then made it my sons job to light our wood burning heater every afternoon when he got home from school he would split the kindling and lite my fire every afternoon and we never caught him fire lighting on his own again he also joined cub scouts and learnt about safe fire lighting when camping etc

This is so true. I am 55 yrs old now but was the proud owner of a winchester 4.10 from the age of 8. It was the norm back then if you were country folk. My eldest son also had his 1st shotgun from a very early age. The others a bit older. But learning how to light a fire and build a camp has been a big part of my child hood and theirs. It takes away the forbidden fruit aspect just part of everyday life.

As far as Emmy's question, my wife, 7 dogs and one horse live about 90 miles, as the Crow flies from that Super Volcano and we don't really bother thinking about it! IF it goes off, we won't likely be around to much more than MAYBE know it before we're GONE! The thing about it is that scientists have determined, (that's kind of an oxymoron because, they can't actually agree on anything!) that it might blow! It's been about to blow for well over 200 years! No big deal! If it blows, it blows and we won't worry about it! Thanks for the videos! I just subscribed, today and hadn't seen your videos before! Great videos! Fantastic build you and your dad did on the pallet wood cabin! A bit drafty, I would think, especially at the corners but, I haven't seen all the videos so, maybe you have that problem fixed! What are you using for toilet facilities? Did you build an outhouse? Are they even allowed, there? Anyway, I'm 65, disabled and still manage to get outside, do a bit of Blacksmithing and knife making! I'm going to try spoon carving and maybe try to carve a Kuksa, this summer! Keep the videos coming! Tell Emmy and Jaxx hello from Wyoming, Wind River Indian Reservation, home of the Eastern Shoshone and Northern Arapaho Tribes!

Very enjoyable video, Mike! Jaxx is such a cool dog...love Jack Russell terriers. I owned two of them (siblings) and I called them "terrors", not terriers. Your girlfriend is beautiful, too. I am from Hawaii where Kilauea has been active for decades. As far as the theory and new technology, scientists should be able to give us ample warning. Whether or not that will help us or not, God knows. All we can do is be prepared for the worst but be prepared. Like you you have your camp to bug out to. People who have trained themselves in various arts of bushcrafting, honed surviving skills, think intelligently and don't make rash decisions, we have the highest percentage of survivability. It all comes down to the old adage, "knowledge is power"!
@waynethompson8416
@waynethompson8416 6 жыл бұрын
She had an excellent question...and with only a couple of minutes to come up with one, she did a fantastic job! I think my response would be a bit of technology wedded to Bushcraft. Make NOW, before you actually need it, an underground spot, large enough to live in, grow crops in, and store supplies in. You would mainly need something to keep the Sulfuric acid out, so while a plastic tarp style thing might work, you would have to be sure it would survive months and years of Sulfuric Acid. Using "Underground Bushcraft" items and on the technology side, battery / solar powered lights for plants and self, large stash of solar cells in case the acid does them in, and battery powered radio, possibly TV, etc. You would do well to also earn your Amateur Radio license and keep a simple radio station to keep in touch with other "survivors" as well. Thanks for continuing to do these series, for not only are they informative, interesting, entertaining, and fun, they are also very educational!!!

thats good question about Yellowstone. I live in California usa so it will affect me. My younger sister lives in Montana which is very close to Yellowstone. It will affect everything and many will die but cant worry about that. Many other things can happen too like very large earthquakes or nuclear war that can destroy much of the planet. YOU dirty tea swilling crumpet munchers haven't made ANY advances concerning space. That is America's baby. And Russia. And maybe commie china a tiny bit. Now then, I happen to live on the northern edge of the Yellowstone caldera. And IF it goes, I'll be the lucky one. You will suffer and dwindle and starve and freeze and die. But I will get to SEE it! Right before trying to catch a car sized boulder with my bare hands. That's right boys and girls. ALL of the action is in America. And Montana is the best part of it. Take good care of that dog boy, give her a bone even when you don't feel like it and feed your puppy Jaxx Iams brand dog food.

Very good question! In my opinion, we worry far too much on the little things and not enough on the big things like your question. I would like to think that somewhere, scientists are thinking about, studying & experimenting on the big issues that we try to ignore/forget about. With the world being the way it is at the moment (wars & conflicts) and so on I don't understand why people can't just get along and enjoy life in its self. As we all know life is far too short & taken for granted far too much!

Thank you to the TA Outdoors Trio for another fine production...and my Yellowstone solution or technology idea would be to have some water ready in space somehow! to release and make rain which would bring down the ash from the atmosphere or maybe other material to catch the ash to lessen the ash time? If and when the volcano blows it would take out about a third of the land and up to half the population. The land west to the volcano are up wind and should be fine and farms over there can and do have enough land to feed remaining population. Much of our energy supply comes from different directions so an electrical grid should be able to secured. With electrical grid up green houses should be able to produce in the dark months with lights. Would love feed back. Love your channel.
