I'm a 70 year old American female. I liked it before it was even called bushcrafting. My son died recently and watching you and your dad together brings back the dreams of doing projects with my son. He lived on the other end of the country so it just didn't happen. I just finished watching 6 of your videos. I haven't enjoyed any videos on you tube more and I watch daily prefer it to tv. I will be subscribing for the very first and it will be to your channel. Looking forward to more on the pallet cabin at Badger Rest

Hi guys,Badger skull as the jaws are'locked' into their sockets unlike fox which is almost identical but the jaws are seperated from the skull in fox skeletons.A sure way to distinguish between the two.Just a note of interest badgers are related to the bear family. The skull you found is from a mature animal as the 'sagitta'l crest which runs the length of the uppermost length of the skull is well pronounced and formed this would be present from 1 year old.Powerful strong muscles enable the jaws to crush bones and because of the anatomy of these muscles the jaws cannot be dislocated without fracturing.. Your right about the teeth .. incisors and molars an omnivore [eats vegetable matter and meat] Great find in such well preserved condition.

Commando Squeak Definitely a badger. They have a socket like jaw which means they have extremely strong biting power but no sideways movement. Canine jaws are connected by ligaments which enables some sideways movement. Skull shape is similar and both possess prominent canine teeth so it can be difficult to distinguish.

Great option. Go to local shoreline for used fishing nets tossed into the dumpster. Put this over the shelter frame, and use as the fabric mesh for pushing in and holding the debris, duff, and moss as the shelter covering. Same used (heavy duty !) fishing net can be tied up for a hammock netting, or a flat hammock bed cot netting .... Other fish nets can be used between trees for netting shelves, or net pouches hung inside the shelter. Can also make a fish net fencing for a wind screen with duff and debris backing. BADGER INN CAMP.
