I loved it when the sun was coming up. Keep up the good work.

Never said before on KZbin: "Rather than driving to Midway, I'm going to fly her". Enjoyed this video (who needs a Tesla?!). And enjoyed flying the last 2 weeks with you around the US and Mexico.

It was a lot of fun commuting like this…especially when there was lots of traffic, plus you can’t beat the view! 😁

Great trip and what an awesome husband you are! Just wanted to note that the ATC audio seemed to be clipping due to the gain/input being too high. But your voice was just fine!
@therv-8pilot3 жыл бұрын
Thank you and sorry for the audio. With the GoPro 8’s I had found a good setting for clear audio but that was on the camera facing the passenger. I decided to move the audio pickup to the camera facing me to make editing easier. What I didn’t do was adjust the input settings on that camera. The result was scratchy audio…I’ll get it fixed for the next video.

Great reference for flying into a Class D airport. Great video, and loved the photos! I used to work for Atlantic Aviation at SJC, back in the '90s. Wonder if it will ever save me money someday? #Doubtful

I did my primary training and instructed in a Class C airport(Omaha, NE) while in college so I was exposed early on to towered and busy airspace. Hey I dropped a hint that I used to work for a corporate department that visited this Atlantic Aviation and she waived the $40 faculty fee! I’m sure you will be treated even better!

THAT was an amazing video. Gosh, the dawn of early morning from the tailcam.... awe struck! Somehow, I would get a picture of that hanging on a wall! Trish is the one that came over and introduced herself and told me about you and your friends at OSH. Such a sweet lady!!! What tailcam are you using?
@therv-8pilot3 жыл бұрын
Thank you! I love the view from the tail...just gives a great perspective. I'm using a GoPro Hero 8 using the super wide lens with the hyper stabilization settings. It's mounted with a FlightFlix mount.

Awesome job Flying Fosses! What is the landing fee at MDW? Btw, it’s free at FA37. Also free room, board, adult beverages and no jacket (or snow shovel) required. Miss you guys!!!
@therv-8pilot3 жыл бұрын
You know we will take you up on that offer…it’s starting to get colder up here. Out the door was $43.50 for all the fees. Way better than driving! We miss you guys too!

How fast could you maintain(in IAS) to an Outer Marker if approach needed you to keep the speed up, and still make the runway? What power settings would you use to keep from shock cooling your engine(if you thought that would be an issue) if you had to do said high speed approach?
@therv-8pilot3 жыл бұрын
I haven’t tried it but I’m sure I could hold 150 IAS pretty easy to a very short final. When I reduce to idle and push the large Hartzell propellor forward I stop on a dime. As far as the shock cooling I’m not a believer in it. There is a lot of real world data out there now that shows that engines do just fine and no cracking based on rapid power reductions…but that’s just me and my opinion after doing the research. That’s one benefit to the large blades of the Hartzell composite is that it is one heck of a brake disk when needed.
