My A3 is stage 1 IE and I also live in New England lol. The amount of salt they use on the roads will rust the bottom of your car away if you're not careful. I always make sure to go through a carwash with an undercarriage wash after every big snow storm because of the amount of salt they dump on the roads. The bottom of my 16 A3 is still pretty clean. I had it shipped through CarMax from down south a year and half ago and it's still pretty rust free.
