This makes me so happy! I love how poppy is adjusting fairly quickly to the life she deserves. We are driving out from Vegas to Lake Tahoe with our pups in a few hours because we want to take them to one of our fave places. This video just made me even more excitessss!

I have a rescue myself. What I would say is - do not get discouraged. Sometimes there are setback, when they start to be afraid of things again. They need a lot of time and patience, as you know well. One of the things that really helped my dog was a long leash, I use those that are 4-5 meters long and they are not a flexi, but a regular sturdy leash. That gives them feeling of more control and freedom. I takes some practice how to use the leash properly, but it really works well for my rescue.

Navi + Poppy ❤ I had to let go of my rescue dog from Korea July 1. Had her for 8 years. I'm guessing she was 5-6 years old when I got her. I work for a dog rescue that helps Korean dogs get adopted in the US. Our adoption rates are much higher than Korea. Rescues and shelters here even transport dogs within the US to higher adoption rate areas. We here in Oregon bring dogs from high-kill states (Texas & Cali being #1 & #2, sadly). So, that's why adopting a dog from overseas isn't an issue. The main problem is that people buy from pet stores. Adopting any animal is saving a life. So, please make the puppy mill go away by adopting like Wah and Weylie always do.

I have a rescue chihuahua. He was also from a hoarding situation in Texas where he was 1 of 19 chihuahuas. I adopted him when he was 5 years old. Just like tajat866 wrote, please do not get discouraged. My rescue chihuahua has made slow, but steady progress, but does have setbacks where he is fearful of everything again, including me. I try to find the things that he loves and use those things to help him feel comfortable - food/treats (he never had enough growing up), long walks, and scratching him behind the ears. I also have a safe spot for him in my place that he always has access to. I know Poppy will settle in, just like Navi did! I hope you, Weylie, Navi, and Poppy have an amazing trip!

If theres a whole patch it with hot glue stick and lighter to melt the glue for no seepage thats what I personally have in my repair kit for overlanding,camping/backpacking!
