....it's not that good. I mean it's definitely very good for when it came out, but seeing it today it looks very fuzzy around the edges and undetailed to me lol, like there's not enough layers. The models and textures are very very cute, I don't think they're exceedingly realistic though

Like, feline fur does have that fuzziness around it as the hairs become thinner, but some of the animals do look a little too fuzzy at times, which may partly be from the game rendering at what looks to be 720p. Looking at the shop lemur definitely makes you feel like you're failing an eye exam though, lol Still, the cat fur looks shockingly good, especially considering this game came out in 2010. The lighting on the black cub, in particular, is really well done, they replicated that smooth coat sheen almost perfectly and the fuzziness gives it that softer glow at shallower reflection angles. Even the cat fur in Stray looks rather clumpy and dull, by comparison, and that game came out in 2022. And, sure, Stray dedicated a _lot_ more resources to rendering the environments, so it's not exactly a 1-to-1 comparison, but still, if there's anything Kinectimals did right, it was absolutely the fur graphics

I have to admit that the cubs are very cute, realistic enough to be fluffy and cuddly without being uncanny, and just cartoony enough to be more expressive than an actual animal would actually be without too fake or forced. Could really do without Bumble though, he kind of ruins that whole vibe.

Neatest part is that this game also has easters eggs coming from different games played on the 360. Example: playing a halo game gives your cub a covenant ghost, y'know the small purple hovercrafts that can splatter a super soldier at mach speed. Yeah sure why not, lets give that to your cub.

My only memory of this game was the fact I quit it a few hours in, and my sister continued playing. Apparently, if you unlock all the areas and such, you can unlock a Saber-tooth Tiger cub. So that was cool. I distinctly remember there being a game like Kinectimals but it was baby dragons -- that one I was obsessed over..
