It's amazing what you can create from almost nothing when you put your mind to it. Sometimes being out and about is almost like a distraction because there's so many possibilities, but when we're just at home/in one place we're stretched creatively.

Thank you so much dude!!! I’m a fellow person who lives in Colorado. I’ve watched your videos for years now, and you’ve inspired me to change my life. Making videos, and doing photography has been my love since I was accidentally place into a photography class my freshman year in high school. I wanted to be a photographer so bad as a kid, my family supported me on this dream until I became an adult. After that I was told to get a real job, and that photography was never an option for a career, and it was drilled into me that the more I messed with cameras the more I was just waisting my life. I got job as a photojournalist, but after that job ended the pressure from my family to conform to the daily grind slowly eroded my passion for photography. I got married had a kid, and slowly became miserable with trying to conform to the life I was told I had to live. My wife has always pushed me to follow my passion, but I kept feeling like I was too old, and that one day if I just pushed myself hard enough I would find a job, that at the very least I could find some form of contentment with. Between my wife constantly encouraging me to pursue my love for cameras, and your videos being a constant pull on the creativity in my heart, at 26 I finally rediscovered my passion all over again last year. I’ve worked like never before on my dreams, created this KZbin channel, and I posted my first video today. I have a lot of camera equipment coming in the mail, and I hope with it I can make a career out of this, and be another success story like you, so I can be an example to younger generations that you don’t have to give up on your dreams like I did, when I became an adult.

Alright, Jake, I am in my 50's and usually, I don't comment very often on channels. I became a subscriber with the video you made about Matti. It was incredibly clever and honest, I love watching young people like you just laying it out there and not looking back, also taking chances, and pushing through the tough times. One of my favorite books is the Alchemist by Paolo Coehelo there is a quote that says" it is the possibilities of having your dream come true that makes life interesting" so keep at it. It is a wonderful thing. May you have the time of your life while you travel this world because there are no do-overs once we reach the end.

as a fellow photographer and creative, i have definitely used that saying a lot, " through constriction, comes creativity" along with the "happy accidents", they seem to go hand in hand sometimes. I really love your work, Jake, keep it up man!

I absolutely love the laptop photolesion shots, background light is adding that extra depth! I got to agree infinite possibilities are scary and overwhelming but simple constrains such as time ( make sh%t happen in 60 minutes) makes task just that much more manageable! great video!

You and us both brother! Diving into the unknown in this creative space is always nerve racking. It's like the time we picked up a camera and started to talk for KZbin for the first time. In creation and life, comfort kills, and discomfort breeds growth. Great vlog brother, very inspiring with the limited options you had here!

Yes! You are one of my favorite, most likable KZbinrs. The floundering comment put a smile on my face. Anytime I try to take a selfie I feel kind of like a fraud. Floundering encapsulates the way I feel every time and knowing other people feel that way too makes me feel less like a flounder and more like taking a selfie. But even with my small channel and Instagram people seem to really appreciate.

I am working on creating a series of short films this month and at first I was feeling super overwhelmed when I realized they could be ANYTHING. But by limiting myself to one camera, reducing the amount of locations, making them a certain length, and not overthinking every shot...it started making getting started and creating easier! Great video!
