so sweet. been trying to shift a lot of my focus to the emotions of a creation more than its other aspects. this video obviously made it easy because of how you crafted it, but also likewise with you served as a reminder to maintain this focus in the other parts of the day. thank you

FYI, morning dubs are not extinct. They are doing very well. They are the number one game species in North America.

A friend of mine once said as we were on a camping trip, someone had pulled out a small speaker and was going to play some music, he asked for him to put it away, and he said, "we as a society have lost the ability to enjoy the silence". The rest of the trip, we did just that, went about doing activities and ENJOYED the silence! It was a great trip and helped me to realize that there are times we need to stop and do just that, enjoy the silence! ✌️

they haven't gone extinct, we just stop listening to our surroundings! music, friends, and the stress of life is what keeps us from sitting down and decompressing life and just listening to mother nature and the life she has given us!

Another phenomenal video from you Jake! 👏🏽And so different from any other solar eclipse video I've seen. There should be more creators like you, who don't just do the stuff every KZbinr does, but make cinematic and inspiring content.

Not only did I hear one yesterday morning while walking the dog, I spotted the little guy. He was alone on a branch, singing his little song. I had a similar nostalgic experience, flooded with memories of playing outside and having fun. I realized in that moment that I can't think of the last time I've heard one of these fellas.

Dude that simple "This is what it SOUNDS like to see a solar eclipse" is so powerful at reminding us to appreciate the moment. You've got a great mind man.

I love how you're able to bring a memory from the childhood alive together with all of the VHS footage and the story of the Morning Dove. I think now, more than ever, it's important to what we pay attention to, and I'm very happy that you're using your skills as a filmmaker to communicate the importance of that. Of what we consume. Of being aware of our habits. Really well done Jake. Thank you 🙏

i find this topic interesting - because, yeah we're distracted by over polished "fake experiences" but in a way, even your video is elevating a narrative of your experience that isn't exactly reality. the core nature of good storytelling is how you present the story - we're all telling stories and you're very good at it, but we shouldn't get it twisted that it's anymore meaningful than someone at a concert having a good time posting IG stories. you know? i feel like it's dangerous to presume that only "high quality storytelling" means something.
