Hi mate i like your videos of my local southern scotland Bothy's, the shooting you hear is the shooting of Partridge on the Buccluegh Estate there not Pheasants 😂 I liked your comment on my random chairs they make a good comfy seat after walking through the hills, I carried my 3 grey plastic chairs in too the bothy about 10 years ago. I have spent many a great day/night in the bothies with my dog MacTavish 👍

Ahh thanks for the chairs mate they were comfy😂😂 I can see why you like the bothy, really nice surroundings and a good shelter after a hike

The people you seen waving the flags is the beaters that are walking over the hills flushing out the Partridge so the big wigs can shoot them, i am surprised that no one asked you too please wait & stop walking upto the bothy during their shoot i have been asked to wait a few times over the years, After you go through the gate just at the bothy there used too be a farmhouse on the left hand side on that flat bit of grass, Kettleton Byre Bothy was once the cow's byre pal 👍

Very accessible Bothy, and so easy to get too, on that easy track. Yes, looks like uou might need to supply your own food and wood there, but it's a great wee shelter from any bad weather. Really good to see another aspect of walking.

Great to see you got out despite various "storms". Where I am in the wee north-east Town of Banchory, all the worst passed us bye. You obviously ran into a pheasant shoot. Beaters (flag waving), gundogs, gunfire, and lots of pheasants happily flying around oblivious to their imminent destruction. No doubt someone from the field sports fraternity will comment on the details of your enquiry. The bothy is a wee gem, again in an area thats gets little attention from the hill- walking public. Commendations again for highlighting a little known area, yet so easy of access from the heartland of Scottish population. Trust your ankle injury gets back to full fitness strength.🏃♂️

Ah I’ve never seen a pheasant shoot before. Was completely clueless to be honest. Yeh I enjoy going to some of the less walked places, get some nice solitude

Nice wee video. Not much in Kettleton and it is tiny but a lovely area. Burleywhag which is nearby is well worth a wander too, had countless overnights there. Take care :)

Yeh it’s a really nice area. I stayed in. Burleywhag a few weeks ago, was quite a nice bothy. Really good condition

Probably been a pheasant bred and released specifically for shooting. Pheasants are more of a woodland edge bird rather than open woodland or hillside, that's more for grouse. Loving your videos...👍👍

Looks like a pheasant shoot was in progress...I had to take cover at Callater Bothy a few weeks ago as the Royals were shooting grouse around me...I met a Country Ranger and she read the bothy book which said King Charles had visited the day before while folk were skinny dipping in the loch!😂

I've seen Charles up at Callater, visiting the guy that stays by the bothy. One of a few times I've seen him in the hills. He's a good guy in that setting and I hope he still gets to get out on the hills every now and then.

I visited mid april last year & had to spend a couple o hours tidying up the place food (half eaten by mice ) and empty cans & bottles all over the place no books only half a dozen pages of the bothy book left , down side to it being so close to the road .😔😡

Taking Shelter From A Storm. LOLZ! Did I miss something?

Yeh maybe was poor wording on my part. There was a storm (according to met office) on the day I was out but I luckily managed to evade the worst of it

Good video well done but…do you call a loch a lake? Think about being in Scotland where we don’t call a glen a valley. Still I appreciate the video.
