Great summary. Have spent the last year+ with the F-GT Elite and it seems like you nailed all the pertinent points. I think those slanted uprights are one of the bigger sticking points for some folks, along with the supporting pedal structure being attached to them. Has been a fantastic rig for VR sim racing once the sometimes painful dialing in of everything was complete.
@Road2Racer14 күн бұрын
For sure. I still haven't had time to do some VR in it. Might do that today. What's your favorite VR title.
@steveh42646 күн бұрын
@@Road2Racer Hard to nail down a favorite...seems to depend on the day of the week. Lots of modded AC, AMS2, ACC, rF2, LMU and very occasional dirt 2 and WRC. Once they develop ACE a little further and get a handle on VR actually being performative enough to play, really looking forward to diving into Evoluzione deeper.

Absolutely epic timelapse. Thanks for sharing! I’m slowly getting there myself, just upgraded to a solid aluminum wheel stand to fit in my office. The good thing is that I’m off of the “desk mount” and on a sturdier frame for when I make my next big purchase of a DD wheel base. Keep the journey going!! Love it!
@Road2Racer16 күн бұрын
Getting off the desk was huge. So much more consistent with the driving.

I got the original NLR F-GT Elite about 3 years ago when it first came out. I am in New Zealand and we have right hand drive so technically the shifter would be on the left like in Australia where NLR is from but as most racing games are Left hand drive I mounted it American style. Love my Rig! I have the 3 monitor mount and my wife just loves how much space it takes up in the dining room ;) While watching your video I have just learned that I can raise my seat up as I changed from the ES1 recently to the ERS1 and thought I had to have the seat slammed on the rig. just working up the courage now to remount it. And I swear with that sense of humour you must surely have worked in IT?

Great video Casey! Good mix of information and humour. 👍 Any idea if the casters can be added underneath in place of the feet to roll it around?
@Road2Racer16 күн бұрын
Thanks! I would assume so. Might depend on the casters. If you buy the ones with t-slot mounts, the answer would be definitely.

Amazing looking rig and amazing content like always! Only downfall of the whole rig is the angled up right that hold the wheel. Harder to get in and out and harder to mount other profile to.
@Road2Racer16 күн бұрын
Yeah, I couldn't comfortably mount the ebrake straight to the upright like I had before.
@supercededman15 күн бұрын
I've got the NLR GT Elite, with a similar upright. It is super easy to get in and out of. I've had a 75 year-old friend (I'm 64) who also had no problems with it.

Been a fan of your channel since I was looking for reviews of the fanatec r2r bundle back in September, which I bought after watching. I'm on a NLR wheel stand 2.0 right now with an office chair but could see me getting a rig at some point... Out of interest, what is the full length of your rig including the overhang of your chair and pedals? They never factor overhang into the measurements but important to know when you have a small space!
@Road2Racer16 күн бұрын
If I put my search all the way back I'm ay 78 inches. But the pedals could still extend further. With the seat in racing position more like 70 inches
@lhmngwy16 күн бұрын
Nice, I have 74 inches to work with so sounds like I have space with me being 6ft! Cheers!

You also don’t see the t-nuts once the bracket are over them. Also if you place the t-nut facing so it doesn’t stick out.

Just bought the same cockpit and seat. How did you get ERS3 seat rear bolts? The seat rails don't extend to the rear enough to fit the bolts.
@Road2Racer11 күн бұрын
Lol... it's not easy. But I sat on it on the floor and made sure it was all the way back. Even all the way back, it was a challenge to get a bolt in there.
@Jonno20209 күн бұрын
I managed to get the rear bolts on in a round about way. You have the seat brackets mounted, bolted straight onto the frame. This allows the seat to be pitch adjusted. nice work-around.
@-KelevraGaming-16 күн бұрын
managed to make it through all that footage i see.😂 so just an FYI with the upright and adjustments you could just move seat and pedal placement instead of entire upright system.
@Road2Racer16 күн бұрын
True! So, basically, just make sure those uprights are in a neutral location.
@-KelevraGaming-16 күн бұрын
@Road2Racer pretty much an may need to move shifter and handbrake to different locations but easier than trying to move all that.
