Listen, it is great for a woman to value herself. I’m all for it, however It is extremely sad that there are so many women who take how they value themselves, or how they see themselves to say that that is also how the world sees them. Yes, we are supposed to love ourselves and want better for ourselves, but how can we want better for ourselves when we do not take care of ourselves in the optimal manner. We know exactly where our faults lie . I agree with the way that Kevin laid it out. Being an average woman, overweight, who has children, technically speaking, do not qualify for a man in the top 10%. For someone who has those characteristics to get an average man being an average woman herself, that woman is not settling. If the man has zero children decides to take on a woman with those characteristics, no matter the reason, he would be settling. Now, if both the man and the woman have the same characteristics, then neither of them would be settling. Anyways, I say all that to say that as women we need to do better. Because we know deep down inside that if we were above average with no children and had all the characteristics of a woman in the top 10%, I am 99% certain that we would not accept a man who had the same characteristics as that woman. We would be settling at that point. And as a side note, I couldn’t help but notice how many times she kept interrupting while Kevin was talking. So it made me wonder that when she said that her and her children’s father separated because of the fact that they kept having arguments, if that could’ve been one of the reasons why. Instead of listening and closing her mouth, she just had to speak. That will conclude my tangent for today, thanks for joining my TEDTalk! 😅😊
