I can never understand why people give videos a thumbs down, great job mike, not an easy task for one man , looking forward to seeing more on this project 👍🏻

Was just thinking the same, how can someone dislike this video? Clearly that person has never done a difficult job on a car or used any initiative. Great video Mike and we'll done managing that lump on your own and making it look so easy

Funny eh? 53,000 thumbs up and 480 down ( mostly from the same person) However 1.16 million minutes a month viewed is not bad At least people are getting confident to tackle jobs with my help = and that means a lot! I am always here for guidance Mike

I felt so much better when you said "I spent all day yesterday pulling apart the insides" as I thought I might have been missing something with a 12 min 10 sec video on removal of motor and gearbox! I spent most of yesterday removing prop shafts etc for same process on a hoist, with the major extraction yet to be performed! Good to see the angle of which you need to achieve to remove unit without destroying transmission hump and front radiator support...no rust on the chassis etc on the D1 i'm working on - it has the unique "land rover external lubrication" system of rust prevention coupled with no salt on the roads! Shame about customer insistence on the colour black! - Madness!

With a bit of planning they are not bad to do - pity the didn't have the bolt in slam panel any more
@harveysmith1005 жыл бұрын
Nicely done Mike. If I didn't know better I would swear you have done that before. That is a long old unit on Land Rovers. The hand brake stuck on the end makes it just that bit harder. Orange it is then
@BritannicaRestorations5 жыл бұрын
I have done one or two! The V8's are bugger to get out as you cannot get to the top bolts on the bell housing and then it is a royal fanny about to disconnect the torque converter This engine was buggered Actually the hand brake makes a nice counter balance I pressed the top of the evap chamber near the washer bottle but no big deal - an extra pair of hands / eyes is nice to have! I think it is now going to be Westminster grey!

Marvellous!!! I would do this with the stage 1 when I change the chassis but it would probably snap it’s that bad !! Grand stuff

This method is a variation on a theme When I worked in shops with a pit, you could drop the rear down and pull them out vertically and roll the vehicle back This is why I lift up the back As they Haynes book says, replacement is the opposite of removal! Mike

Mike, I'm new to your channel but I'd like to say a huge thanks for your videos. It's a shame theres not more people out there like you. I don't know the history of this RR but it looks like a Heinz 57 of a car. The door shuts and slam panel are Matt black but the interior looks like its from a later car. Have you ever thought of doing a video about how you got into working on Land Rovers.

Well done Mike, you made that look so easy even though we all know it isn’t. Been thinking, does the TDV8 from the L322 fit in this chassis? Might give the customer what she’s looking for in terms of economy but in keeping with the V8 nature of the original lump.
