@@kirdot2011 It doesn't use infrared light anyways. It's a halogen oven which is actually a really old technology (easy bake ovens). It didn't catch on because while halogen bulbs can produce a lot of heat they burn out pretty quickly. Chances are you will need to replace the bulbs after 2 or 3 years of use.

My GE microwave from 2005 finally crapped out. At first kzbin.infoUgkxO_Bc204MGjxDl87cOKcdgaRhzSqGmv_g I was unsure because I was looking for something with the exact same features. Found it with this one. Interior space cavity was large, but the outside was smaller than my old one. I love the one-button push for 1-6 minutes, and the 30 second add or 30 second start. and MOST IMPORTANTLY, I love how you can adjust the power level during cooking. The reviews said it could not be done, but this marked all the other boxes. and happy to say, it does. I can hit 1 minute start, and change the power level from 10 to 5, 30 seconds in, without interruption. my favorite feature!

@@wirtsleg340 I don't agree with your analysis, because that's 10 bucks EXTRA per meal, not 10 buck for an entire meal. So It's money on top of ingredients. Which, depending on what you're making, will end up being more than 10 bucks. So your restaurant budget just got upped. Also, it makes no sense to pay so much money for a gadget that can be replaced with a much cheaper but superior product. So yes, only affluent people would buy such a gadget.

I see this as being something meant for the people who can't get good results from a standard oven, as a replacement that won't give stupendous results, but will produce better food than the person would otherwise be able to create. Food coming out 'alright' might not seem great, but when it's compared to food that would normally be under or overcooked, it starts to look more appealing. I'd imagine it would also be an option for small living spaces that don't have the room for a traditional oven. Between this and a hot plate, you have most of the functionality in a much smaller footprint (at a fraction of the cost as well), which can even be stored away when not in use. I don't think this product will appeal to most people, but I can see where the market for it would exist and why it could be appealing to the right crowd.
@recoil53

First $1k buys a lot of take out or delivery. On the second, a regular toaster oven costs less. If you're place has no oven and you're cooking on a hot plate, what's the chances you have $1k to spare?

Thank you so much for this review!!!!!!! I literally saw this on TV advertised and was just about to go buy it. Then a lightbulb in my head went off to search for youtube videos of people putting it to the test, came across your video and.... So glad I came across it! Just saved myself wasting money on that garbage! Like the other review below me says "$1000 for broiled pork" and that steak also looks pretty depressing! I am a big grilling person, as I like to try and keep my eating healthy, however I love my meats to be seared and have a nice crispy outside layer while juicy in the middle. If I had gotten this I would have been pissed to hell, as the commercial pictures looks nothing like the actual delivered product! This is why it's important to do your research before buying any products. I'll stick to searing my steaks (both sides) on my $(49) cast iron pan then popping it into my oven on broil for 10 mins for ($3/gas) and be happy with my results for a fraction of the price!

Of major concern is that the higher priced kit comes with "3 months of Brava+ membership ($29.97 value)" (So $120 a year) In looking up what that it, it talks about being able to save settings and use the APP and also get software updates. So am I to understand that unless I am part of the Brava+ membership I can not use the APP to save things, check on the status, get updates etc? That would be one very poor thing that you need to pay for a monthly service to use such an oven. Can't even get software updates with out a paid service? Unheard of to say the least with a product that runs on software! After all, as you say, it's a computer. Please tell me I am incorrect in the above as it makes zero sense to have to pay to use the product itself in a way that clearly is not really talked about unless you find it in an FAQ and understand it. Even more so when you consider the price point.

@ConstantChaos1 5 жыл бұрын
@@joshuapark6082 well, let's break it down shall we? Cast iron •A lodge pan will run you like 25-40 bucks (depending on location and store) •cast iron must be hand washed •you can not use soap on a cast iron •you need to season the vessel regularly (optimally after every use/hard use) -this requires large amounts of time -it is also a continuous cost of maintenance • cast iron by its nature takes longer to geat up than say an aluminium pan And finally • cast iron does not have a temperature resistant handle Now, a similarly sized standard pan • will run you 4 to 15 dollars • dishwasher safe • can be cleaned with soap • does not require seasoning/ excessive maintenance • heats very quickly • likely to have a minimum of a silicone or plastic heat resistant handle The cost of purchase is significantly larger even before upkeep costs begin to pile up Cast iron is a luxury that not all can afford even just from a financial standpoint, not even taking other resources needed into account But hey, what would I know, it's not like I come from a long line of metal workers and have been cooking since before I can remember or anything.......... oh wait

wow, that thing is HUGE! I already have a full size oven, as 100% of people who have a kitchen do. It’s simply too large.

Thank you, you just saved me from a $1000 mistake. I already was at the checkout with this product. I'm glad I watched your hands on review.

Buying one if these is not a mistake. You should try going to the Stanford Brava store and seeing it for yourself.

It's a damn $1000 easy bake oven. Wait those 10 min for your oven, it's worth it and won't cost a grand.

Nope. No reason to get it based on this review. However, I knew a guy who made a fantastic steak in a regular oven. It was perfection.
