Bike set up to carry 3 bottles and special needs bag can replace those 3 during the ride. However, getting used to 8 bottles of special drink in training will not be feasible on race day with current bike setup and race logistics. To get 8 special bottles on race day, a double bottle holder behind seat would be necessary. This obviously will make bike heavier and less aero. With current bike setup, it may be better to train with 6 special bottles and 2 bottles of what will be available on the course.

Hey, just FYI, that Conti 5000TL tire is NOT COMPATIBLE with your ENVE SES wheels. It’s a hookless bead rim style, see reference to ENVE’s compatibility chart on its website. You could use either the Conti 5000 with a tube, or another tubeless tire like Schwalbe Pro One. www.enve.com/en/lp/tire-compatibility/
@devonjstewart3 жыл бұрын
Upon closer review, I can’t say definitively that your rim isn’t compatible. I believe compatibility has improved in recent SES models, so it probably depends on the year of your wheel manufacture. Though, the way that the tire failed is consistent with my suggestion that the tire wasn’t compatible with the rim on your bike. Maybe go back and ask you LBS to look at the wheel details and make sure you have the right tires. Some of my friends with older SES wheels were disappointed they couldn’t use Conti 5000TLs, but perhaps you can. Just be safe!

Elbows out with a huge stack is basically creating a huge surface area for air to hit you and hold instead of flowing over and around. If you’re mainly training inside you should at the very least include one aero positioning session, ideally more when possible to become accustom to holding an area position. If you can’t get to a professional to bike fitter then making small and regular tweaks in front of a mirror or setup a camera to record yourself then make adjustments. You’ll become more efficient by using less energy to combat the wind with a reduced frontal area and the higher watts you produce will convert to increased speed for less effort.

Well his fit is awful, but he insists bc he had a professional bike fit its good.. but I get more aero (at 6'6") on my road bike in the drops... saddle appears low as well.. He's got a good run, so even with a 20 mph bike split he could still hit the 10 hour mark.. Whoever suggested the tube in a tubeless tire though was an idiot.. its the reason is ripped off at the end.. there's no way he got the bead seated again with a standard air pump

I think proper tt position os really hard to hold. So it is the compromise they found. Look at the difference between ironman athletes and pro cyclist TT position.

He would be more aero on the drops of an aero road bike and more in control. He is so high up on the bars it's not helping anything.
@smb063 жыл бұрын
@@drym3943 it takes getting used to.. I have a really aggressive tt position pretty big drop from saddle to aerobars - flat back... and I can comfortably stay I'm aero.. I did the same IM course he did (the 70.3). You come out briefly for hills or aid stations, but otherwise it's just being fit properly and then spending time in it... no my first few rides weren't comfortable, but now (and I've only raced this bike twice) I don't leave aero at all unless I get out to climb, I'm racing and grabbing nutrition, or making a sharp turn.. I do train on it so my experience isn't based on just the 2 races thus far.

@simonemadaschi16913 жыл бұрын
that saddle height is fucked up, i understand its probably because of limited flexibility but still, at 19:34 you can see that at full extension his knee still has a long way to go potentially in terms of extension. On top of it in his "aero" position his chest is pretty much horizontal to the asphalt instead of parallel to it. I know that not everyone is able to pedal in an extreme aero position but there is absolutely no chance that this is the best set up for nick.
