Against the tron player, when you've exhaustioned them and are taking extra turns, it's actually better to fate seal yourself with Jace. Their draws don't really matter and it helps ensure that you keep hitting good cards.

on the last turns of the final game, you could have thing in the ice, snap+exhaustion, serum visions (8 mana, you had 8 mana). Then they need to peel exactly red mana for bolt (which we might have known they had, I wasn't paying attention to their bob flips). Then next turn you get two draws and you have 2 counters on your thing which makes flipping somewhat easy, and flipping means you get to replay your snap.

TheDeckinator please explain why Days undoing on your opponents turn is so great? Because you can pseudo counter and refill your hand? Considering it costs UU11 between 2 cards, it sounds pretty meh. What other cards benefit from having quicken in the deck? Visions ? Exhaustion? Also meh. Not worth losing slots in the 60 imo.

Actually, you could cast Time Warp with an As Foretold off of Snapcaster because it doesn’t care where you cast the spell from, just if it meets the CMC to counters on As Foretold Edit: Turns out, alternative costs can’t pay for alternative costs. Oops!
@Willd2p2
@Willd2p2 6 жыл бұрын
It doesn't care where you are casting it from, but it does care that it is allowing you to cast the spell using an alternative cost. Snapcaster is also giving the card in the graveyard a way to cast it using an alternative cost (flashback) and you can only use one method for casting the spell. This means you can't use As Foretold to cast a flashback spell since that would be combining two different alternative costs.

I've built a much faster and more consistent version in U/G 2 years ago (and I kept improving it). Flip Jace is much better here than JTMS, even in this trashy version ;) Disrupting Shoal and Spell Pierce against Combo ONLY*. As if control decks couldn't deal with a single counterspell on turn 6 or whatever. You want Defense Grids against control. P.S.: Exhaustion is just a trap.

All of what you said is so false whew, the number of times I've straight up died to exhaustion. And baby jace is good in the deck but not better than an every turn brainstorm or bounce or fate seal
@47Mortuus
@47Mortuus 6 жыл бұрын
I never said Exhaustion is a bad card; it just doesn't progress the board for the time warp player. While much more expensive, a single (or 2) Walk the Aeons are probably better, especially in U/G, since you're able to play cards like Rites of Flourishing, which is good in combination with cards like Day's Undoing (end the turn? so what?) or Ghost Quarter+Crucible of Worlds. You can actually not die to Exhaustion. Time Warp decks usually don't play creatures to be able to attack. It just buys the Time Warp player a turn (SOMETIMES - or rather, most often). It's somewhat like playing actual Time Walk in Vintage Storm decks. Basically free, never _really_ bad but in all honesty not the card you want in your Storm deck (Dunno if those people know, but the Storm mechanic says: "[...] spells cast this turn"). JTMS is a good card :D but why would you want to fateseal and bounce when you have infinite turns? It might be good in _some_ situations but baby Jace is just perfect for this deck at HALF the mana cost. You can even buyback flashback (chose the replacement effect yourself) Walk the Aeons :P JTMS is just a glorified, personal Howling Mine then. For 4 mana, though? This is just a philosophical issue: Go for synergy or just add all the cards you consider to be overpowered. This deck's brewer simply added Jace JUST BECAUSE IT HAS BEEN UNBANNED. Not because it's perfect for the deck, not because it HELPS THE TIME WARP DECK GET TO THE POINT IT WANTS TO BE AT, but rather... just because it's a staple. Netdeckers might agree, but actual data shows that this philosophy is trash at it's core. All I'm saying is: "Lantern Control". EDIT: @ theodore goodall The current list is not online atm; it would take me about 30 minutes to copy paste it. I will do so, though, in the next few days. Maybe honeybadgerftw will try it out and agree with me _then_ . Until then, please be _exact_ in regards to saying how I am so wrong. Just saying that statement is not really convincing...
