I guess, somewhere there must be, where the song "Fields Of Gold" was written... It makes so much sense to place a love story in that land where the fields are almost endless from horizon to horizon... and it makes so much sense to make the fields of gold the main part of the song. Here we just saw the remainders of the fields after the harvest. I can only imagine how it looks before...

I enjoyed the trip you took to Colfax. The totem pole you saw was interesting and I am glad you got your coffee too! I dont drink coffee but I drink tea and GT's organic Synergy Kombucha. I had to go off both for a week as I am going to the allergist this afternoon for skin prick testing. Tea is a natural antihistamine. We have 1 of those big white windmills here in Milwaukee. Its in Bay View, which is one of the Milwaukee neighborhoods. Its near Lake Michigan. Luckily there is only the one. And I never knew those things can catch fire! 😮 oh and Milwaukee is the largest city in Wisconsin. My horses are out in Mukwanago which is like a 45 to 50 minute drive from Milwaukee. Mukwanago means "place of the bear" and Milwaukee means "meeting place of many waters".. Wisconsin means "land of many waters". The state is known for cheese + beer... Kind of ironic but I am being tested for milk allergy. Get breathing issues each time I eat / drink any milk product. The music in the video reminds me of Ice Age Continental Drift. ❤ really enjoyed the music.. I hope it goes well with Apollo today! Good luck!!

Silki, thanks for highlighting our small town. I have been subscribed to your channel for a while, but not an active follower. Was surprised to see a video this morning about Colfax on the tube this morning. Lived here all my life. its a nice place to live if you are looking for a quiet agricultural related community. Access to Washington State University provides benefits you might not have in other small towns. Glad you enjoyed your visit. The concrete river is flood control for the Palouse river, constructed in the 1960's. The river would flood the town often.

Greetings, Silki. What was that Timex commercial? Takes a licking and keeps on ticking. Apollo is blessed to have you as his mom. ... I am glad you are having the opportunities to see the beauty of the U.S. ... Has Apollo been able to start his treatment yet? Thanksgiving week here is one of the worst weeks to try to get a medical appt. Is it the same in Canada? ... I was watching a show about energy production in Germany. According to this show, there is massive use of open pit mines that has resulted in villages no longer existing and even 90% being destroyed of a forest that had existed since the Ice Age. The show reviewed massive protests against nuclear energy -- understandably. ... Continued good vibes headed your way. Hugs to your 3 cutie pies and beautiful horses. Keep well.
@Joergthereader14 күн бұрын
In Germany the did a huge mistake to get rid of Nuclear Energy. The consequences are brutal. Germany has one of the highest energy costs in the world and many key industries in energy intensive sectors are fleeing Germany or are not anymore profitable or have to fight to survive. Germany made the huge mistake to make itself depending on Russian Gas and get rid of Nuclear Energy. Your concern regarding open pit mining and cutting down whole forests in the past, thats the past or should have been but because of all the Energy problems Germany is again depending on coal in a way not imaginable a decade ago. Germany has still a lot of forest but now they cut it also because of wind and solar energy which is insane. It happened recently that they cut a whole forest in East Germany 🤦♂️ In Canada you are waiting forever for a doctor Appointment and it is worse with hospitals and surgeries. The waiting times are insane

Hi Silki. Please know we care. Do take care of yourself please. I was concerned about you when I saw how empty everything was. A woman traveling alone does need to be able to keep herself physically safe. Years ago I drove 3 small kids back from Florida to the Great Lakes region, alone. It was not planned that way. Going down yes but coming back nope. However, just like you we made it. Now when I travel I build in quite a bit of attention to where I am, when. You are truly having an adventure. Nice that the community is friendly. You do know to check for some sort of formal ID when someone approaches you to “help” right? It is trust and verify, always. Basically think Miss Marple( Agatha Christie’s Nemesis has great commentary on this and can be a fun listen while driving…free here on YT) who references everything to the people she knew for years in her small village….and now with online our villages are a bit larger but the tell is the firewood price. There probably is an invite only community site somewhere). You honestly don’t know who knows who in such a thinly populated area. I can pretty well guarantee most of the folks around by now know who you are and what you are doing. They can largely be well meaning, can easily deny knowing anything ( and do not get fearful…..it is just a small community thing.) and they are curious. Thank you for sharing your journey with all of us. 😊😊

I know exactly where Colfax is, and the area is beautiful in the Spring. Colfax sits down in a gorge at the confluence of two small rivers. Colfax is only about 12 miles away from Moscow, Idaho. Colfax is pretty but dead, if you want any action you will have to drive over to Idaho, that's where the college is and one good bar with live music. I'm sorry but all the volcanic activity in Eastern Washington ended 13 million years ago. There has been a bit of rumbling at Mt Adams and Mt Baker. Baker is a monster, God forbid it should ever go off, it is our Hekla.

Hope all goes well for Apollo, you must be so tired & worried, with his breathing getting affected 😢 The drive was ideallic, I guess however being in the sticks has it's cost. Thank you for the Tour, the houses look beautiful, if there were more trees, it would be beautiful in the fall. Even without the Political times, seems some drawbacks to the wonderful scenes. I do wonder what weather events, may affect the area. Tornadoes? Poor Apollo, 🙏🙏🙏💙 Hope his first treatment goes well. Glad the horses okay, your warning app worked well. I do wish I could contribute, through Paypal. Hope you get some sleep, but I guess you won't until he's better & back home. You are missing events in Iceland, but we have some cover. All of your posts, have been so interesting. Btw do you know, where the Icelandic people cone from? If their Island drives them away, becomes persistently active, was wondering if they would go to Scotland perhaps. Although life here, is far from easy.
