So here is the deal, I am not a pilot I just love aviation. Anyway I happen to attend the AOPA fly-in at the Livermore airport with my kids, Mike was there with Draco and they had just done some flying Stol competition with the rest of the Cowboy crew. When I approached just to see Draco with my kids Mike was amazingly pleasant. He had said hi to my two little girls and began to talk to them so specifically, about flying and Draco it was just a very cool moment. Since that day I have been watching Mike and Mark's channels. I certainly believe in earning your keeps and the Patey's show it. May you and your family stay safe and continue to have the time of your lives.

These two brothers and their wives are a quartet of ambassadors for general aviation! There was a period of time when flying was unaffordable, but now with all the kits and experimental planes available, almost anyone can afford to fly if they want to! The Patey families make it look so inviting. Whenever new videos are put on KZbin, I always look for theirs first!

I so love these guys. Their Best Tugs are something we've needed in aviation for years. I've been trying to get my company to at least try them because we are so fixed on the "old ways" and so many of our customers have had the same concerns about towbarless tugs that Mark had with his wife's Cirrus. The "big two" of towbarless tug builders haven't changed their technology in almost 30 years and it's guys like this who will finally pull us into the 21st Century in aviation.

I have been watching Mike for some time now and l'm always amazed with his drive, excitement and skills to get things done. After listening to this interview l now understand where it all comes from, the "lets get back to work" It's a way of life that needs to be taught once again to all our children, teach them how to work with their hands, how to create and solve problems, somehow this valuable lesson got lost in our society. These two men are truly an inspiration to all, thank you for sharing this valuable information.

Thank you guys so very much for your dedication to these products . I worked at a FBO for 20 years and when we went to a electric tug it was the best thing we ever did .Only problem i had with it was that it was not big enough to move a G - 5 hangered there. We had a lot of hangered a/c and that thing made moving them a breeze.

It's so great to see and hear Mike and Mark. I really love what they're doing for the aviation world. They are truly role models for the rest of us. They show us that it is possible to balance work, family, and play time and be happy. Giving credit to their wives and family is awesome. I'm really blessed to have a supportive wife too and I've learned to not neglect her in the pursuit of my hobbies. One thing they discussed is being competitive. I love what Mike said about that. His attitude is perfect, he feels good for others if (by some odd chance) they beat him, not mad that he lost, and there is zero jealousy. That's the way we all need to be, try to improve, but not just to beat someone else. Lift others up. He has more fun than anyone else I know. I fly RC model planes, and like Mark has with the flying cowboys and his other aviation friends, we have absolutely the best group of people ever. We love, help, and support each other and have all the fun we can stand. Okay, back to work, no wait, I'm retired, okay back to play.

Hi Chandra... Mike brought up a point during this interview. He was talking about paying attention to the details and as you work your kids through the various stations/jobs in the production process, teaching them the business from the ground up. One of those very important steps is to be attentive regarding customer service and the interfacing with your customers. I ordered a package of your "GripLockTies™" soon after MIke described them during one of his videos. The design is a very original update to a years old basic product. What's NOT typical in the package I received was the personal, hand written note to me directly, "Hi Gary, We hope this works well for you. [Signed by Someone]" I never spoke with a customer service person on the phone and had no more contact than to go to your website and place an order. (Which was promptly filled... accurately!!) That little extra step stands out in today's typical "Who cares" environment. Personal touches and attention to details are things that employees will find, make you stand out from the crowd... and it costs nothing! Thanks, Gary, gary@goodlund.com

Mike mentioned that they had started and ran an engineering company. What he did not mention was that neither him or Mark were trained engineers. And yet (not surprisingly) they were successful. He also failed to mention that Scrappy is his 18th(?) (I may have to be corrected on the exact number) airplane build. His engineering skills, his planning and reputation are great enough that he had FAA approval for Scrappy at or near the beginning of construction. I do stand corrected In Mikes new video 7/22 he stated his parts box had been with him for 14 airplane builds. He is still a crazy man.
