She is AMAZING. Takis has had many great volunteers over the years but sometimes one is just special. Gamze has that calm yet warm energy that draws the animals to her and also allows her to keep calm during very stressful situations. I would LOVE to see Takis get to a financial position to be able to hire more permanent employees. Maybe he could keep some of these wonderful volunteers if he had the funds to offer a paying job. He’s come such a long way since the container room - I know he has Apostolia and her boyfriend now (sorry I forgot his name 😬) and of course all of the essential workers who build, clean, deliver, harvest olives etc and best of all, an in-house vet now. That’s incredible strides made thanks to his vision, commitment and donors all over the world. But he still needs more paid staff. Imagine a day with a fully staffed shelter when Takis will be able to take a day off each week?! I pray for that. And I dontste each month. Although knowing Takis, he will give his time to another cause other than himself. Beautiful human.
