I think it makes sense to skip HDMI out on devices of this specific form factor; for the more GBA style shapes, you can essentially just hold them like a controller, so it makes sense to be able to plug them into the TV, but one like this would make for an awful 'controller' experience I reckon, like an even more cramped GBA SP.

I want a device I can always have in my pants pocket, in case I get stuck somewhere unexpectedly I wont be bored. If I don't care about portability, I can use my pc and tv at home. Hi Taki, could you elaborate on scaling please. You mentioned to someone here that it's not square pixels and is 4/3 when 480x360 would naturally give 2/3 (I think). So does this make GBA look awkward/blurry? Really I love small handhelds that disappear in a pocket, like the GBM, however blurry pixels are a really big turn off. How are you finding GB/GBC, GBA, SNES and MD? Are they sharp or badly affected by the pixel count/setup? Also may I ask if this has a form of sleep/resume?
@TakiUdon4 жыл бұрын
GBA doesn't full screen scale perfectly, but you do have the option of using 1 to 1 with a border if you really want. On a screen this small, going full screen doesn't bother me that much. It's much better than a real GBA screen.
@kelsangnorbu840004 жыл бұрын
@@TakiUdon Hmmm, I think this sounds the same panel if not very similar to the RG300 panel. 480x320 non-square. That panel I know you've praised before but it displayed some systems very poorly - namely GB/GBC with extensive blurring. Also, IPS V3 version or not, the RG300 screen had some black-point problems with dark colour-scheme games being unplayably dark - Alien Trilogy comes to mind but wasn't the only one. Can you confirm this is the same panel? If so, much as I love the idea and size, this would be a deal-breaker. Thanks Taki.
