That turret is a Pz I tanks one. The Germans recycled it to arm the prototype with it since all the Pz I light tanks was pretty much retired in mid to late 1944 when both of these was built for testing.

I have seen the 617 at Kubinka. It is a weird beast, almost cartoonish, but has a massive presence.

These are some awesome vehicles, they really have a sci fi/alterative history vibe to them even though they are based on real life vehicles. I'm going to have pick up this kit for myself at some point.

Very cool models. For those thinking they look science-fiction-y, the wheels on the smaller one are called "pedrails" and were used by H. G. Wells in his 1903 story "The Land Ironclads", which was credited with inspiring the modern tank. Wells didn't think them up though- the inventor did describe hem to him and it's likely Wells included them because *he* thought they were cool. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pedrail_wheel I'm sure the Germans didn't credit either Wells or the inventor.

@@HerbertErpaderp it was an armoured mine sweeper. It was supposed to be used to clear mines because the wheels were the strongest part or the vehicle
