Hi Marilia! ^^ This couple is very loved throughout the world. This series is called, "Takumi-kun", and it is made up with five different movies about two high school boys who fall in love. One boy has a lot of hurt inside and he's very withdrawn and doesn't like to be touched. That is the character of Takumi who is played by Hamao Kyosuke. Takumi's roommate is a popular boy in school and his name is Giichi. Gii is played by the actor name Watanabe Daisuke. Gii helps Takumi overcome his challenges. The first movie stars two different actors, but movies 2-5 star Hamao and Daisuke. I think you can find all 5 movies on You tube with english subtitles. Like you, I have been missing them a lot and I think these two young men have completely warmed the hearts of so many people worldwide. They have quite a following, despite the Takumi-kun series being over for a few years now. I don't think Mao-kun could ever forget his Dai-chan. I had heard that one of the reasons he left the entertainment field was to be able to one day have more time for himself (and Daisuke) without always having his personal life documented for the world to see. I wouldn't be surprised if Dai-chan even encouraged Mao to go back to school and get a degree, as that is what Daisuke did before he pursued his stage acting goals. Most young boys enter the entertainment field without first pursuing any higher education. It is rare to find an entertainer (actor/singer) who has a college degree under their belt. Dear Misty, I do agree with you, Mao had to get a degree of some kind after leaving the entertainment industry as he started his carreer so young. But I Wonder why in the States ? Why did he have to go so far, it is not even his mother tongue ( so harder to study ) Do you think he wanted to draw a line with Dai-Chan or on the contrary, be more " in the shadow" so to speak, so he could come back to Japan and be more or less " forgotten " by the fans and have a quieter life with his boyfriend ?

I don't know why Mao chose the States to further his education, but I know that it really helps Japanese nationals to be able to speak English well, and what better way to learn a new language than to be totally immersed in it. If he does decide to go back to Japan to work, (which I think he will as his family is there) then it would certainly allow Mao to find better jobs opportunities since he would be bi-lingual. I think too, that if he and Dai-chan want to pursue their relationship once Mao quietly returns, then they would have a better chance of having a more private life together . . .away from the prying eyes of the press and fans who cannot respect the line of privacy that most entertainers crave. I feel for them . . for entertainers who cannot have the privacy they deserve, away from the pushy paparazzi . . . I am sure it was very difficult for young Mao, being that he hardly had control over his professional life due to his management company . . . perhaps this is one of the reasons that drove him to decide to leave so that he could at least have more control over his personal life. In any case, I wish Hamao every success in life and I applaud the courage it took to leave his work in the entertainment field despite his rising popularity, and to start afresh at something totally different and new. Hi Cilla . . The name of of this series of movies is called, "Takumi-kun." It is a series of movies (5 altogether so far) based on a popular Japanese Manga with the same title. The 2nd -5th movie stars these two boys named Hamao and Daisuke (the boys you see in this video). Hamao plays Takumi and Daisuke plays Gii. The first Takumi-kun movie starred two different actors. You can find all five movies on You tube. If you like Takumi and Gii, I have have many more videos made with them on my channel. Hi Christy . . This series of movies are called, "Takumi-kun" and it is based on the Japanese manga by the same title. There are five movies in all, however the first movie had two different actors that starred as the characters Gii and Takumi. Movies 2-4 had the actors you see in the video you just watched. Hamao Kyousuke plays the role of Takumi, and Gii is played by Daisuke Watanabe. All five movies can be found on You Tube with English Subtitles.
