It's just so cool that Jeff Beck, a living legend, gives SPACE for young Tal to shine. The combination of humility among geniuses is refreshing and wonderful.

@MrCherryJuice6 ай бұрын
Yes, first solo is from Crossroads, the gig where so many of us were introduced to Tal. The second, based on the caption, must be from Osaka. Would have made more sense to put it first and also to label them.

What happened to Tal? In the league of Beck, Page, JPJ, Entwistle, then promises an album, gets fantastic reviews on The Who tour, then- Poof disappears off the face of the earth. Did she have health issues? What a shame. She should have played with Page on his next year project, but that disappeared too.

She got tangled up trying to release the album on her own. It did not work out and it was only last month that she announced that she had signed a contract with BMG. Perhaps when this record, which she tries to publish from 2012, and since 2016 she announces new release dates that it can not keep, will finally appear, something will start moving. For example, the audience that goes to her concerts (the last time in autumn 2017) will finally know what to expect. Although I am not a big fan of her as a singing girl with a guitar, that is her dream for many years, that's why she left Jeff Beck, but I consider her one of the most talented melodic bass players I've ever heard.
@aakar885 жыл бұрын
Via Verde Agree, her and Beck made magic, as good as Beck is, when we hear of new music and video from him, if Tal is not involved, interest is lost!
@viaverde31535 жыл бұрын
The last time they played together with Jeff in Sao Paulo in 2014, and her solos from that concert are simply fabulous. You can find these on YT, although they are not the best quality recordings. I recommend "You know, you know", "Freeway Jam" and most of all her most famous, "Cause we've ended as lovers", because this version is in my opinion a simply masterpiece. It's a pity that this concert is not on a CD or DVD, except very bad CD bootleg.

Yes, the version from Crossroad 2007 is absolutely the best. kzbin.info/www/bejne/jai5l2eDe6dsnsk This passage (double riff) with Jeff about 3.02 and then the roar of the crowd and that wide smile of Jeff to Vinnie :)

She may be an all-time global great electric bass performer, but since when is greatness determined on the metric of being able to play staccato individual notes at high speed a la an electric 6-string guitar player? Bass is fundamentally a piece of percussion equipment, intended to provide a low end of the acoustic range rhythm or structure for tonal melody. She plays in a subset of bass guitar lineage that purports to view the bass guitar as yet another out-front tonal leader in melody, musical digression, and showmanship. Even some of rock-funk-pop best known bass players, while playing fast and upfront in a sound mix bass, always integrated their instrument in as a supporting musical component, helping keep time/tempo with their patterns of notes, chords, and plucks/twangs/slaps, etc. Bernard Edwards, Louis Johnson, Chuck Rainey et al were prodigy players but always, always their bass parts were the kitchen tables on which the musical dinner ware set. Sometimes in the world of art and culture, less is more. That principle is totally ignored by Beck and his beautiful young bass player with the proud and ample relative to her size breasts/nipples.
