Use ghee to fry onions. Remove the onions. In that left over ghee add the washed and dried rice and fry for a few min. The rice will become a little crunchy. Now add hot boiling water to the rice with salt. Cover and cook till done.

Hiii deedi.. am from thalassery & a beginner in cooking. Started cooking all of a sudden (a month before). I really sucks at cooking. But Masha Allah , now I think I became a junior master chef 😀😀. I watched many videos of u & I tried it . U really are helpful for a beginner like me. Thanks deedi 😘😘. But one thing about the thalassery chicken biriyani is that the rice is roasted in ghee before adding boiling water. Yeah.. it's a tricky part . I can't do that. The authentic thalassery biriyani is made like that.

Yes...as u mentioned...no need to marinate or add chilli powder...chicken pieces can be added directly after bit of frying (make only translucent) onion,Ginger and garlic...
