Thank you for showing me this. This is an inexpense way to make boxes to pack ordered items from the internet and send the items to customers through the mail. I mean it is inexpensive in that I don't have to buy completed boxes which cost me way more money. You are a very kind gentleman and I am so glad that I came here to learn.
@Y10Q11 жыл бұрын
I have been doing this for years on ebay. instead of buying new boxes and stuff, I just take the boxes get, take em apart, make smaller boxes out of them. Saves me a ton on shipping

Yes it is the same. It is called corrugated cardboard, you could probably get refrigerator / washing machine boxes they have to throw away at an appliance store and get it free that way.

Can you make a big box out of smaller boxes or smaller cardboard pieces?
@Twirlyhead10 жыл бұрын
The weakness of traditional box designs is that the pieces needed are always much bigger than the box you end up with which is fine for pros but amateur, ad hoc "boxers" will often find that they haven't got a sufficiently large piece of cardboard to make even a moderately sized box so resort to less than ideal methods to improvise a less than ideal box. I did once design a box making method in which boxes could be made from smaller scraps of cardboard not much bigger than each face of the box to be made - I've been meaning to write it down or make a video about it for years now.

@dabooge10 жыл бұрын
Uline is a rip off. Go to any factory or warehouse in your area, they will be more than happy to give you as much cardboard as you want as most of them toss tons of it. Appliance stores would be another place to look. I haven't bought cardboard for decades. REUSE is better than recycle!

I'm looking for a tutorial using corrugated cardboard to make gift box and lid that can carry the load for gifts that are oddly shaped or just do not fit into the standard gift boxes that Wal-Mart carries. Using corrugated bc I want it to keep it's shape and protect the contents until the receiving party unwraps it at our family's gift giving for Christmas. Can anyone assist me into finding such a tutorial?

This is why I don't like this: You have a thick ruler to make a perfectly straight perforation, but you did it free-hand. You can tell when you were perforating the box that you did not use it in a straight line. You can do this same method without a tool. Just use a ruler like he has and bend the cardboard.
@mrsangelleah198110 жыл бұрын
Where do you buy the cardboard if you want to make a bigger box? Can you buy it in sheets?? If so, I'd be all over this. Please hit reply so I'll get the message.

i have a wheel like that for sewing. i shall be using that to see if it works the same. now just to find some card to try it.
@trixrabite8 жыл бұрын
Did it work? I think those wheels for sewing the teeth aren't deep enough, acting more like a rotary cutting blade and might cut through the top part of the cardboard and not perforate the cardboard correctly. I think those are more for pattern making.
