Excellent quick review. Very interesting. Although you didn’t seem to mention any of the power metrics; what are they? How did those compare to the most powerful or long running Sur Ron ? I heard you say you might expect 45 miles of run time, but I assume you mean on the flat streets. What about aggressive dirt riding, like that track, or hilly single track? That’s always the biggest question for me. I want an electric bike, but have not bitten off yet!

stick a 1kw rear hub motor( you can go 3 kw but imo non specialised bikes will break ) and a 28 ah battery to any old bike and have fun , 30mph /60 mile range ..about 600 quid plus any free bike . Thankyou China !

After riding the new 2022 Sur Ron (KKE fork) and the new Talaria (RST fork) several times I can say Sur Ron all the way Battery wise the 38ah of the Talaria doesn't do much. It's a heavier bike, riding position is different, throttle response is different, eco mode on Talaria sucks Sport mode on Talaria gets a little more torque after 4-5 battery cycles like Ebikezilla mentioned, maybe with a 48t sprocket you'll get a bit of extra torque but the throttle response wont be the same as a Sur Ron The Sur Ron is simply tuned to near perfection at this point and when I ride I have the most fun with it The Talaria on the other hand is more comfortable to ride on bumps, I'd say it's a cruising vehicle if it would maintain that feel with Supermoto tires

@@nxdboi I think you like your Talaria too much, the torque is lacking and it's weak. When you pin the throttle it doesn't feel remotely close to a Sur Ron. After the first second there's no torque and it accelerates gradually in a manner that doesn't feel like a Sur Ron. I did feel a small improvement after a few charging cycles but it's nothing special. Feels a little more responsive on the higher end when I let off and "rev" it but it's still unlike the Sur Ron. Without SurRon there would be no Talaria to speak of... that's where all the $$$ came from, people who fell in love with that bike. I think the SurRons Eco mode might have more torque. I had the pleasure of unboxing 3 Sur Rons (One X260) and 1 Talaria in less than 1 year. I even upgraded my setup to 72v

@@nxdboi So you don't even own a Talaria and you're just telling me I'm wrong because of other peoples opinions I unboxed a brand new Talaria, then unboxed another brand new Sur Ron a month later, tested them multiple times with my brother on different days, took my time to write my 2 cents on their differences yet I'm the one who's completely wrong? Hmmm... I'm in a group with 150+ experienced Sur Ron riders who didn't ride a Talaria yet I don't care what random people are saying, until I know they used both bikes long enough to tell the differences. Sur Ronster ONLY rides a 72v Sur Ron with a modified sprocket & BAC4000 so his point of view may be different than mine, although I ride a 72v Sur Ron too I also have a brand new stock 60V Sur Ron at my disposal to take out once in a while. Feel me? I get to compare them both (nearly brand new) and unmodified.

@@nxdboi 1. My friend bought the Talaria so I can’t have buyers remorse 2. They're very different bikes - Different modes/torque - Different sprockets - Different weight - Different acceleration - 1 has a belt the other has a gearbox - 1 has a wider rear tire - surron turns better and allows a wider angle --The Talaria feels more bulky like a "cruiser" and the sur ron is more nimble and lighter but less comfortable with the stock seat. $50 can fix that - The rear suspensions are configured differently There's many differences but like I said the Sur Ron packs more fun I have yet to test the Talaria with a 48t sprocket but I imagine they put the 44t sprocket on the Talaria it to get a higher top speed (to make up for something) a 44t is almost the same size as a 42t whereas a 48t is much larger and going from 48t to 42t is a huge difference.

you should use a torque wrench to tighten the bolts to factory specification during your assembly process, it's really important.

They’re made in China. Their bolts don’t have torque ratings. Chinese aren’t there yet.

So looking at this and some other youtuber reviews I would conclude that the Surron is still better for street freeriding, I really like the look of talaria and appreciate the gearbox but it's still 2 very different bikes. One is snappier, more nimble and lighter while the other one is less responsive in the throttle, less nimble, wider and heavier but has more ground clearance, because it's wider can fit wider tires as well, feels firmer and has a gearbox which is much better for off-roading. I think the difference is clear, Talaria is probably what Surron was supposed to be a pure eco off-road monster while Surron is leaning more toward the middle between street and off-road. At least that's how I see it, now just can't decide which one to get...

I went to purchase the 2022 Talaria Sting last week and after test riding it, I was nervous about the battery locking mechanism. When I went over bumps or rough terrain I could hear some noises which I presumed were the battery moving up and down and side to side. I looked at some KZbin videos and learned that for some people, the battery locking mechanism along with the bottom casing for the battery had broken making the battery lose. I decided to go with the Sur Ron Light Bee X which I feel the battery has a more secure fit and in my opinion, the Sur Ron is just as capable of everything the talaria can do. The Talaria can be a great choice for those who are a little taller given the seat height of the bike which is the reason I considered it in the first place being 6'2. I hope the next model of the Talaria improves its battery fit!

It’s a fairly easy fix if your anyway hands on.. I wouldn’t regard that as a deciding factor against the talaria but that’s just my opinion.. for sure I think the talaria is a lot better off road

The slower acceleration is probably good for new riders and kids, but it's a deal breaker if you're used to Sur Ron speed.

Interesting, but I see a huge missed opportunity that could be part of a gearbox - 2 mechanically selected gear levels - Hi/Lo. Would solve the problem of riding on roads to an off-road location, then gearing down for off-road, and gearing back up for highway, just like a dual-range transfer case on a 4wd vehicle. Looks like there's plenty of room for it, and would not add much weight. Improved efficiency, more versatile, no need to change rear sprockets, seems inevitable.

I'm very surprised that they were able to take those sharp turns at that speed if they were just regular reviewers. No way bro! This is literally what I asked you in the last video I'm so happy you got your hands on one! Really want to see you wheelie it more though. I'm sold but waiting for the road legal version in UK because you can't ride it anywhere otherwise. You put the foot pegs on the wrong way around. They are meant to fold back if you push them backwards not forwards. For when you ground them out moving forwards they fold back. Also the frame looks like the T from Talarias logo I think.

Hate the slope of the seat, after sitting on it, pushes you way too forward when you should be able to move around on seat. (This is why modern dirt bikes have a flat seat to move forward and aft while riding) Hate that the seat got raised but the bars didn’t, makes ergonomics feel awkward. Same headlight, forks, rear shock, brakes, sprocket bolt pattern, front tire as surron with a knock off eggrider that you have to hit start every time to ride and having to change gearbox oil every 500 miles is a let down. Having said all of that I like the wider frame/swingarm and the larger battery.

@@surronsd it takes all of 5 minutes while you wipe your bike down stop being lazy !!!! The slope of the seat makes trail riding 10x times better than the Ron.

@@ronan9784 haha me being lazy? I do thee most maintenance then anyone that’s rides these bikes and i have one of thee cleanest Surron’s out there that actually rides only dirt. For sure not lazy at all, one of the perks of these bikes is not needed in to do fluid changes. Use common sense. The slope of the seat make trail riding worse, i rode one last week and ergonomics were terrible. Maybe one day you can afford one of these bikes 👍🏼

@@ronan9784 let’s see you change the gearbox oil in 5 minutes. Just saying talaria could have just gone with a chain drive that doesn’t require oil changes… most buy these bikes to not have to do fluid changes and just enjoy the ride.
