I lived like this first 10 years of my life in the middle of Siberia. I think I had the best childhood in the world. And then my parents decided to move to the city. I felt like my life was ended. Semi-retired now and slowly moving toward off grid direction again. Love your channel. Ivar is the lucky kid!

To answer your question, no, not at this time in my life. I am 80 years old and your life seems much like the stories my mother told me about her life with my grandparents on an 80 acre cotton farm in Fort Smith, Arkansas so. Many years ago. Everything seems so hard. Given the state of the present world, and if I were young, I might do what you do also. I certainly do admire your independence, and I really enjoy your videos!

I just discovered your channel and I love your videos so much! I really admire your courage and talent. The life you have chosen surely isn't always easy, but seeing examples of life off the grid like yours, makes me think that maybe something important is missing in our comfortable life. My father comes from a small equatorial island in Africa and he grew up very poor, he always tells me of the times when he had to grow his own food and build barely everything he had because they had no money for buy it. He fought hard to have a comfortable life, but he always tells me that the richest man is not the one who has the money, but the one who is able to live on his own hands. Obviously I would never discount the comfortable life that my parents offered me, but I think that having the possibility to choose to live in a more conscious way and more in contact with nature, with the possibility of enjoying only the best of Progress in case of need, is the a very beautiful and courageous way to live. Thank you for sharing your way of living with the world, I wish you a lot of happiness! (sorry for my bad English)

So many things that I have made and had to later tell everyone that it is my creation not Keimos. :D One thing is precisely the gate to the garden. He said then that ”It’s not gonna last”. Well... it’s sixth summer now with the same temporary gate. Best regards to you both! -Tessa

Talasbuan thanks for replying. We moved here for several reasons: we could afford to pay cash for this place, it is a small town (a few thousand people), there is not a single dominant religion, there are several universities within one hour drive, and we have 4 seasons. This is the hardest place to grow plants we have lived, but there are many other benefits. We hope that your spring is good for you and your place. Good luck with your journey.

It was nice to see your parents helping you.. They seem to be no strangers to working.. :) It was certainly a huge help for your friend to move the earth pile with you.. It is a big job. Culling out the roosters is not a job anyone likes, but it is wonderful to have them added to your fresh meat. Do you do any canning? Putting the meat into jars, is great to have for later on in the winter. If you cut the meat off the bone, you can still make bone broth, and you can put that too into jars for later... Great job-Great video.. :)

Such *gorgeous* drone footage right at the start, I love it soooo much! Now Imma gonna go watch the rest. ❤️ Edit to add: Hahahahahaha! The multi legged chicken at 6:07 , that's just hilarious. As for butchering, I am totally happy with how you show this. From a distance for the actual killing, and that helps me deal with it. I'm the most sensitive soul around, and I didn't think I could handle it, but after the warning I decided to watch anyway. I think you have a very decent and respectful way of filming this. The thing I would be the most scared about with having to kill a chicken, (or any other animal) is MISSING when aiming for the chop. Or doing a half assed job.... and then ending up with a wounded but not dead animal! That would scare the daylights out of me. So you gaining confidence is wonderful.

I studied this life choice when I was young, a way to escape the life I hated for one I loved. Souther grandparents proved this was all possible. Then as the 70's rolled out so did much of my youthful wishes and pride. Nearing the 80's I found myself living this life but unhappy because of the man I chose to live it with. As the 90's stated I knew my literal escape from him meant that I would have to put away the dream and be like everyone else, dead inside by living the life I never wanted. I raised her and she is her mothers daughter but better. I did well I think. Now, I am glad that the last twenty years was lived in balance between both worlds, but, now I dream again as I am too old and ill to even stay the night at a pleace like that, one I love so well. Thank you for sharing. Blessings....

Gorgeous drone footage at the beginning of the video. What kind of rabbits do you have? I have a Holland lop and a mini-lop. Rabbits are so fun. Do you grow your own food for your animals? If you don't, are you able to purchase organic feed in Sweden? Here in the U.S. organic feed is pretty expensive compared to non-organic. I would love to live like you two - what a beautiful, serene life.

I would like to know what you do with so many roosters (Cockerels in the UK😉) at once - without a freezer. Just curious. I know you often show meals. A long slow cook I guess? (Watching all of your lovely films chronologically)

Tror tvärtom att många barn skulle må så mycket bättre att leva såhär än i den stressade förorten med stora barngrupper, stressade pedagoger etc. Människor idag har kommit längre från naturen idag.

I would love to live like you do, but sadly I can't afford to buy land in Sweden or I would do. Instead I will be leaving the UK to live in Bulgaria in the next couple of months with my trusty Sheepdog Hilde. :) Yours is my new favourite channel, such a beautiful place you have, and such a simple life. How much land do you own, if you don't mind me asking?

You two are amazing!! Did you grow up living like this or did you choose when you became adults? Also, do you have any predators for your sheep and chickens?

I think the answer to the question is yes, but there are so many people who do not have the land nor the real life skills to even begin living in a more regenerative way. Living with nature also comes at great cost, especially if you want to go it alone as they say, but eventually they need to interact with those on grid to get the things they cannot make themselves, . We tried living a more simple way here with a garden and greehouse and workshops, tools etc for twelve years or so and managed to create a collection of trades and or skills needed using real life skills gained in our first 30 years, it was hard at first but it does get easier if one lives a little closer to civiliastion and the experts who are willing to teach you the basics or more of their crafts for free, all we had to do is turn up to watch and learn, we now do these things for others. The regenerative machintions are truly coming home to roost in the Netherlamds today by governmental policies removing the avenues that will force many off their own land, many will not be able to make the adjustments in a shorter time, but some might manage it if they have saved up enough resources and gained the right real life skills.

Would I live like this? I would totally give it a try. I LOVE the country/outback feel & nature is sooooo beautiful. It feels right. But having said that, I would find it very hard physically. I would definitely need to be very well prepared. And as I am no longer that young anymore, I would need a lot of help & thought to get things done. I would also require a spouse who would agree to this.

Talasbuan Yes, I sold my condo and travel living off grid with my van. I have solar to run a small refrigerator and use a solar light. I have a Nemo shower tent, with a solar shower. The tent is also used as a privy. I cook using propane. In the United States we are allowed to camp in national forests for free. We are fortunate to have many beautiful places to park. You have to move from the area every two weeks. You can see a photo of my van at the end of my most recent video. I’ll be adding videos every once in awhile.

it is a nice experiment, but no i would not live like this. I would like to live out of town( but not uncomfortably far away) but I have come to appreciate what conveniences we have and do not want to give those up. I don't want to give up electricity ( I do have solar panels), I like hot water (natural gas) and central heating and cooling. I like being able to look at your videos in the convenience of my home. I do make my own bread, I buy large cuts of meat, cut and package and freeze them for one time use ( my dad was a butcher so that helps), make my own buttermilk, but that's about it. I am semi retired and like to visit my kids and having a bunch of animals unattended would not be good. And even though you are not connected to the grid where you live, you still use electronics to get the message out ( very nice videos too), you use a freezer in the village to store your meat, you use power tools and a tractor, even though it's not your own. And I'm sure you visit the dentist when necessary and I hope you will have Ivar vaccinated against some of the bad stuff out there. I commend you for doing what you are doing but if all farmers produced food like that, about 90% of the world's population would not be able to eat and starve. Again, nice experiment and it makes for good entertainment.
