Dear Elias John Sir, As a 70 year old TVMite who loves the city has always been pained by the neglect of the city by the State Govt as well as the derisive comments about TVPM and it's people by majority of those settlers in TVPM from those areas from Thrissur and other Northern parts.TVPM has always been denied it's due since independence. During the reign of Royal family of Travancore,Travancore was the No 3 industrialized states in India with one of the first airports in India. Once Kerala is formed all the rulers except Shankar , VS& OC are from Malabar and TVPM .Except for Late OC ,none did anything for TVPM. Exactly our Thiruvananthapuram city is the home of first IT park in India, first space rocket launch in India, first transshipment port in India and Thiruvananthapuram should have been and has the potential to be the Singapore of India. But our incompetent/corrupt State government, Thiruvananthapuram Local Government etc. are holding our city back. Also, where is our TVPM MP Mr. Shashi Tharoor??? I see him making public speeches on every topic, but I have never seen him make a public speech about this masterplan and global vision for Thiruvananthapuram.

But unfortunately, our leaders have no artistic design sense, and they will give contracts to their relatives/friends company and use this as an opportunity to make money from corruption and kickbacks and make a disaster ugly Gateway which will spoil our name. Good presentation. It required a Gujju (Adani) to kick start the development of TVM city (by energizing Vizhinjam port). Let us all pray that the Vizhinjam port does not encounter any more road blocks so that massive investments can flow to TVM city and its nearby places. However so long as the (so called) intelligent voters of TVM keeps electing people who has absolutely no stake in the development of TVM city, the city will fall well short of its potential.

But you are 100% correct where is our Thiruvananthapuram MP Shashi Tharoor??? He worked in international organizations such as United Nations and I see him making public speeches everywhere about every topic, but he never makes public speech about topics related to Thiruvananthapuram such as his overall global vision for our city. Overall, very disappointing for Thiruvananthapuram public!!! I think Thiruvananthapuram public needs to start their own political party to look after Thiruvananthapuram city interest. Do t hold your breath. No industrial or manufacturing investment will come to Kerala as it is a very high cost economy. Labour cost here is three to four times that of neighbouring states. Same is the case for land as Kerala has shortage of land. Last but not least, Trivandrum has a locational disadvantage when it comes to domestic cargo as it is at one end and land transportation is very expensive.

Carl Zeiss company only needed 35 acres of land for their factory and you are saying we don't have 35 acres of land to give them next to the port😂😂😂. And what you say about high labour is mostly applicable to factories manufacturing low technology items in large scale so they need large number of staff. But Carl Zeiss are a high technology manufacturing firm which required less number of staff to run their advanced manufacturing process. And if we gave them land near Vizhinjam Port to set up factory they would have saved on transportation costs since they are near to the port so this will balance with our relatively higher labour costs. Please don't make these broad statements such as we don't have land, and our high labour cost. These don't apply to high technology advanced manufacturing which require small facilities and highly skilled labour. Please see Singapore who have very less land and very high labour costs but they have many foreign and local companies which do high technology manufacturing.

Oomen chandy then explained to high command that the port has extremely high backing from the people of Trivandrum and if he backed from the project, there will be a huge backlash in the upcoming Aruvikkara bi election.
