His progress with the stutter is amazing, but what's also amazing is how natural he looks these days. He's a professional comedian, and it seems to me these days that he's got a lot of confidence in himself. His stage presence today is night and day from this first appearance on AGT

I had a friend who was constantly bullied for her psoriasis. She joined the talent show and used all the bullies' comments as ammunition for her jokes. She ended her stand up with asking her bullies by name to keep mocking her because it'll only further her career. Editted 5 days later with an update: I found her on Facebook. She's doing good. Not so much a comedian anymore, but her skin has cleared up so much. I'm so happy for her. I also looked up the only bully I could remember and, well, I found an obituary. Idk how to feel about that.

I have a very mild stutter that happens on rare occasions and my roommate laughs at me sometimes. Dude doesn't realize how much it hurts. It's nowhere near as bad as Drew's back in the day, or even now, but it's still frustrating to anyone who stutters involuntarily.

As someone who has Tourette's, Samuel J. Comroe is very accurate in his jokes, like damn the fact that when you have Tourette's then you see that other person with Tourette's twitch all hell breaks loose when you're surrounded by like 50 people with Tourette's I have been in a car with someone I know who also has Tourette's and we kept bouncing off of each other like Mirrors and sound mimic tools put together, and the next time I go to a Tourette's gathering I'm gonna have not one but 2 people with Tourette's in the car with me and that is going to suck, but honestly these people are inspirations to those with disabilities.

I was on a crowded bus but one seat was empty. The guy was making noises and twitching so nobody was sitting beside him. I'd just seen my first show on Oprah about Tourette's (1990's) and recognized the symptoms. So I gave him a big smile and took the seat. Ahhhh.

I remember when I first discovered Samuel Comroe. It was back in the old Xbox 360 days, I think microsoft was promoting the new avatar chat room feature and they had Sam do a stand up with a motion capture camera and the avatar would copy his movements and he was like "see my avatar is cussing me out 'this mf gave me tourettes too'" and I lost it at that xD I been watching his stand up for years now lol

All of these comedians are amazing, and they deserve major props. It is great to see them turn their "disabilities" into a positive aspect of their acts and lives instead of dwelling on it in a negative way. It takes a whole lot of courage and motivation to do something like that. I remember Geri Jewell back in the day. Geri was one of the first stand up comedians to use her disability (Cerebral Palsy) as a positive part of her act. Geri was/is great. Those of us that are old enough, remember Geri as Blair's cousin, "Geri," on "The Facts Of Life." I had a lot of respect for Geri back then (even as a young kid), and I still do today. Good times!😊

I really appreciate you showcasing these people in this video. Josh Blue has been one of my favorite comedians for a long time in part to the fact that my mother has cerebral palsy. The people that are performing in this video have a variety of disadvantages in their everyday life for a variety of reasons. Despite the difficulty you may face in your everyday life there is no reason not to live to your full potential and laugh in the face of hardship. P.S. I know Josh Blue doesn't do the routine in this piece but his commentary on traveling at as a or with a disabled person is absolutely true. Your ability to screw with the Airlines and get premium service does not hold a candle to First Class overall.

Josh Blue is amazing. I don't have any disability, but when people tell me I look like him I am NOT offended. Ever since I took psychology as an elective, it's been my firm belief that, for the autism spectrum at least, literally every human is on that spectrum. As I've said I'm not diagnosed with any disability, but I and - I assume - most people have so many facets of my being that I feel hold me back from being able to accomplish many of the things I want to. I don't want to act like my shortcomings and flaws in any way are comparable to being truly handicapped, but seeing guys like Josh and Drew doing AMAZING work helps keep me above a level of constant depression and self-discouragement that comes from the litany of f***-ups that are my daily life. Folks like these comedians remind me that, no matter how badly I just screwed up, or how awkward my most recent social interaction was, or whatever thing I've done that I hate myself for - these guys remind me that I can still some day get to a point where I don't hate myself for half the things I've done that day. I really hope that other people can relate and find inspiration from these comedians like I have, even if they aren't disabled. Everyone has a struggle of some form or other, and the success and talent of these comedians is a great weapon against depression, self-loathing, and general feelings of failure and incompetence.

I have the utmost respect for people with disabilities that refuse to let it stop them from pursuing their dreams. I love Josh Blue, Drew Lynch, and Brad Williams. They'd be funny even if they weren't disabled but the fact that they are but are willing to poke fun at it is just awesome

For any Australians, I am reminded of one of the great Australian disabled comedians, Steady Eddy. He's an Australian comedian and actor with cerebral palsy who made his debut in 1992. Having since made a name for himself, he's branched out beyond humour based solely around his disability.

4:44 I love this so much One day while at the retirement home visiting my grandfather I got to meet this non verbal autistic man. Things you should know: This was located in the intensive care side so it's for those who are clearly mentally struggling and need extra help. They sleep 2 people per room separated by a half wall in the middle. So this man was clearly stressed out. Apparently what had happened was a new roommate was joining him and they had to move his bed from one side to another and it was making him upset. Now as someone who has been diagnosed with autism since I was 3 I was always in the small classes so I got to interact with the whole spectrum: nonverbal, antisocial, Fragile X, it's nothing new. And I took a second to reflect back on my life and I 100% understood him. So as this old man stood there looking at where his bed used to be I saw him tearing up and held his hand. Sudden changes in my schedule stress me out, not having things the way I'm used to annoy the crap out of me, and people constantly getting me to interact with people, I 100% RELATED TO THIS MAN AND HE SPOKE NO WORDS and my single gesture of sympathy and understanding calmed him down. His primary nurse constantly apologized for him, constantly made him interact with people, and I honestly respect her efforts but give him a break. He may not speak but there are clearly gears turning so just smile at him every once in a while please. As someone who has had to train himself to understand neurotypicals throughout his life I can't understand why people don't do the smallest of things to help someone who has never known independence feel less like a burden and more like a person. Edit: He may be nonverbal but I saw the years in his eyes. I don't know if he remembers his struggles like I do mine but he is clearly exhausted just like me. I wish with every fiber of my being to some day find a way to access who these people are. Find a way to give them a voice.

people need to strive to be like you. you helped this man, getting on in years that you saw was struggling and the small gesture you made, i have no doubt, meant so much to that man. the fact you were able to be so empathetic and kind to a random stranger is beautiful. i wish the best for you :)

10:12 I had this same exact thing happen to me. At a restaurant the waitress went around the table and took everyone else's order. Then she pointed at me and asked my friend "what will he have?" He told her "He can order for himself." I never figured why, I am not disabled or look disable in any way.

I was talking to a friend about how she can't be in the military because she has Autism that causes her to have meltdowns at loud noises and she doesn't have fine motor skills with her fingers, and she said "well, I mean, I could always be in the Special Forces." and now that's one of our inside jokes. So glad someone else picked up on the comedy of that term as well.
