the fact that he is now on tour in Europe and is killing his shows and make people fall in love with his music is incredible. For his age he achieved already so much. I was in cologne at his concert and it was incredible. The show was so entertaining and his interaction with the fans was so much fun. His range was incredible, he was doing a backflip and just after that he started to do some incredible (almost whistle) notes. And it was no Playback or Autotune used... It was pure magic to see him perform and hear his music live. I wish him all the best and hope to see him soon back in Germany!

Well, the point of dropping out (for Benson) is he wanted to be able to not have it said that winning AI is what put him on the map. That's why he bowed out of the competition, and that's likely what people mean when they say Idol didn't make him. The show gave him exposure, sure, but he didn't want to possibly win and be known as the person who won Idol and so that's why he is successful. He wanted to be successful under his own merit.

The fact this is the same dude that released beautiful things this year and now it almost hit 1 Billion streams on Spotify. Dude didn’t even go through American idol, just dropped out t focus on his way be an artist and Ben made the fucking perfect choice. His probably be like the most successful Idol alumn in a long long time- then again he didn’t even stay through the show. Benson would be nominated for next year’s Grammy, sure of it. Beautiful things is still huge and will be that way at least til the end of the year.
