the pilot episode initially aired on Tribune broadcasting owned stations and then the series became the first ever first run syndication series in the states

Haha...I have taken a while to put another up haven't I? I've been planning to do this one for a little while but have found it hard to find the time of late. The series is a lot of fun, I love the diversity among the episodes and it's always a gas to see the guest stars of the era too.

Haha...he was being a right bastard to get out of there :) It's yet to have a price drop since release but I do believe Shock will include it on a sales campaign if not for Halloween at least for Christmas, if you can pick this set up for sub $50 it's worth it! Thanks Kev :)

Thank you, Sir :) I guess it all hinges on how long ago you bought it, if it was within three to six weeks you can take it up with the retailer for an exchange but if it was outside of the window it would be best to take up with the supplier direct.

Two questions. Is the music edited here like it is in the American edition? And can I play this on Region 1? I never tried an Australian release before.

haha my dvd boxset is totally different. The 1st case like that one you have has Seasons 1 and 2 = 6 discs.. While the other case has the cover the brown skull jaw and dark trees in it containing 3-4 Seasons plus 2 episodes as bonus! The cover dvd boxset is also different. mine has that creepy little gremlin peeking through a doorway.

Great video here. I bought mine as the U.S. version and unfortunately my final season box set is missing 2 DVDs!! Anyone got any suggestions on what I should do?

The production values of Crypt are far in excess of Darkside so it definitely looks better and I agree even the screenplays are often better. Aside from the nostalgia value, Darkside just has a cheesy quality to it that I love. Keep an eye out in October as Shock may offer it on a promotional campaign for Halloween and if that's the case JB will be selling it at a discounted price.

well that's because Crypt was a HBO series while Darkside was a first run syndication series. so lower budget and all that.

epic thanks you so much for sharing this yes i love the show and always have and it's better than most of the crap they put out these days - it's much better than tales from the crypt too.....basically nothing matches this show - congrats for buying it!! it's epic!!!!

Thank's for the demo. I now know i got SCAMMED! Your disks have a picture in them. Mine are gray with the title and the CBS PARAMOUNT in silver. The video is not DVD quality and the sides are in slightly. I know the black bars on the sides are normal. The video is in from the black side bars as well/ Just slightly. I'm wondering if you know about bootleg, counterfeit versions? I never got a box (As Advertised) or tin either. I thought Amazon was a trusted site.

you didn't get scammed that is the official release from CBS who owns the rights to tales from the darkside. They just ripped the old broadcast tapes and put them out with no attempt at remastering them. Same happened with their Friday the 13th the series set. his looks different because a third party did the AU release and they either had better copies of the episodes or they cleaned them up

Thank You Very Much for Setting me straight. The other thing i forgot to include is, When i put one of any DVD Dark Side in, my computer is saying DVD-RW on it. How can i get the copies of Tales From The Darkside like yours. Is it from Australia? Again, Thanks for the right information about the series. At least there watchable and the music doesn't cut in and out like all the ones i watched on KZbin before CBS had all pulled off.
