So if you had trouble playing it, apparently KZbin is having trouble processing a video this long in 4K. If you try lowering the video quality it should run just fine.

I've probably listened to 3,000 different stories over the past 10 years and I can honestly say that this is the best series I've ever heard. They're all great, but that first one is something else. The character development for Henry is immaculate - it's as good as I've ever heard.

Uncle Henry reminds me so much of my grandfather. A tough old man with more experience than i could ever imagine. Sadly he died before i was old enough to appreciate the wisdom in his tales.

i feel like the author did such a great job in fleshing out the characters and really giving them their own personality. it can be very hard balancing a plot line and also wanting to flesh the characters out without taking away from one or the other but it was done so seamlessly well. as always the narration was equally amazing

This story really made me feel some personal attachment. Henry reminded me a lot of my grandpa. Gramps was my rock, just like Henry was. He raised me since I was 3. He was always talking about the old days, though his stories were much more rooted in reality, lol. I watched gramps go downhill, having good days and bad. But he always tried hard to go out get to work on whatever little project he had. My gramps passed away 11/11/23. His funeral was packed, just like Henry's. Gramps touched a lot of lives in a good way and he was a great man. He passed at 84, almost 85. I really appreciate this story, as it made me remember him fondly. This is the first holiday season without him, and he's dearly missed.

Much the same for me, for years my grandfather was the closest thing to a father I had, my father being much too close to Wally for comfort. When he passed I was in high school, all of my and my brothers friends came to the funeral. All of them loved to come over and listen to him talk of his childhood growing up in Chicago during Prohibition.

Uncle Henry sounds so much like my grandpa, it's insane. The war story about the Authors Father brought me back. My Grandpa told me story similar once. When he came back, he became a belligerent alchohololic because of what he saw/had to do over sea. Eventually though, he managed to sober up after loosing his kids. He sobered up completely to get them back. He was sober until the day he passed away. The story Uncle Henry told was so similar up until the more paranormal part but it still sent a nostalgic and creepy shudder up my spine. Edit: I just wanted scary stories, not to want to cry over Henry and the author. "We do as we do, because it's all we can do." Words to truly live by. These stories were fantastic in every way, especially the bittersweet ending. I'm happy for the Author. Main character, whatever. Uncle Henry lives on in spirit!

Having listened to this a totally reasonable number of times over the last week, I've two thoughts. One, I think Henry waited a long time to see if his nephew would come to believe in the supernatural on his own, because that was the only person he trusted to handle the situation in part 5. Realizing he was getting older, Henry decided to lead his nephew there, a bit at a time, through these tales. Two, I don't know his nephew's name.

Only 16 minutes in but this is how creepypasta/scary stories should be read out.
