Tales of Argosa - Draft Hardcover :D

A draft copy of Tales of Argosa. Still a WIP of course, some blank pages/missing art etc, but hopefully this gives you a pretty good idea of the look we're going for. For the final, I'd like to commission as much multi character/scene art as possible :DD

Yes absolutely, we've been playtesting ToA using various Adventure Frameworks. amongst other things. ToA is deadlier though so just need to bear that in mind, larger groups of monsters are more dangerous than ever.

When on drivethrurpg to get my playtest version (was in my librairy with my LFG book). Can I ask you, did you plan to inlcude (in the book or as a pdf) conversion tips (from OSR to ToA and from 5e to ToA). I saw this in OSE and lastly in Olde Swords Reign (free pdf). The designers of both included tips on how to convert monsters and different adjustment to help convert an adventures to their game. I think it's a brillant way of making your game compatible. There is no Luck or Perception in those game, but a rule of thump could help!

Yes that's a good idea and I'll include a conversion guide re OSE/BX and 5e. Minimal changes needed for OSE, 5e might require more tweaking. Depending on how long it is either at the back of the book, or as a stand alone PDF. Now I need to go check out how OSE & Olde Swords Reign did it!!

@@pickpocketpressrpgvideos6655 hope you will be able to but it's okay if you're not able to You could maybe release the "back covers" documents separately if you're unable to make them inside the book but it's more of a cherry on top than really needed but it's always great Loving it and Low Fantasy Gaming was very intriguing to me for a while but never got around to it ToA's Kickstarter (with its goodies!) was the greatest entry point I could hope for

There's an early post here about the differences with LFG lowfantasygaming.com/2023/06/15/tales-of-argosa-say-what-now/ but in summary the main changes are: (a) quicker, (b) deadlier, and (c) greater focus on enabling emergent play. Mechanics wise (i) level 9 max with much flatter hp curve, (ii) roll to cast & levelless spells, (iii) Nat 19 trauma tables, (iv) quicker initiative, (v) simplified short rests, (vi) Slot based encumbrace, (vii) Hex crawl rules, (viii) XP rules, (ix) refined treasure tables, (x) big Downtime chapter, (xi) range bands, (xii) card & dice oracles, (xiii) solo rules/tables.

@@pickpocketpressrpgvideos6655 thanks. I like the updates. I played with my group and solo LFG. I have to say that the DDM was too much. It was already hard to be a magic-user. We ignored that rules to not scare any players from being a mage ;-)
