This game's story telling is just fantastic. I love, LOVE, every story they have in this game. from the main story even the extra scene. The story toward the ending is especially heartbreaking, and the way they ended it, is just... I don't have any word to describe it in one word, It's sad, somehow made me happy but disatisfied, but it's actually fitting and heartwarming, if you want to put it simpy, it's absolutely beautiful. I'm glad I managed to clear almost 100% of it and witnessed the end of Tales of Berseria. What a beautiful game.

I always go back to this intro. So much feels esp. when the song and scenes explode at 1:16 - I felt Berseria did a lot of things right esp. story & character development. They also upped the English voice acting and it's the first time I wanted to play an entire Tales game in English. I cannot wait for Arise.

I honestly found Laphi to be annoying, out of all the characters I disliked him the most but he did grow throughout the story and I was fine with that. He still annoyed me through the game but at least he was changing. But everyone else I definitely agree with, Eizen being my favorite because of his humor and what he stood for, I loved the whole creed thing and how he accepted his reapers curse as who he was and he couldn’t change that. His interactions and side quest with Zavied where fantastic as well.

You’re right on that. I don’t want to spoil it but this game hits the sympathetic element right on the dot. It leaves you kind of conflicted between dread and happiness. This is possibly to flesh out Velvet more as a character. She lost her family, friends, and even her humanity. As the game progresses you’ll see that she develops slowly. She’s more of an indirect character. The only thing she’s really ever direct about is killing Arthur and I think that’s about it. This game does well to show her capabilities, and her regrets as well. The game is definitely worth the play. Velvet really doesn’t deserve more than half the crap that happens to her, but that’s the point I suppose, to show just what she is willing to endure. This game is one of the best i’ve played in quite a while

I haven't really played a tales game since I was maybe 10 or 12. I think that was my first to be honest, and it was Tales Of The Abyss. Now as I am getting back to JRPG again and decided to play Tales Of Berseria, and damn the nostalgia it brings. It really brought me back my love of JRPG and their focus on storytelling compare to games like Skyrim. I would like to give a shout out to the devs who made this game possible and my deepest thanks for having a chance to play a game as wonderfully made as this.

Just got the game. Some people tend to only see the revenge side of her character. Which is there, but they seem to ignore the fact that her peaceful life was stripped away from her by Arthur. Though you do see slow development with her, and she is rational with her decisions most of the time. If this game is doing one thing right, it’s hitting the sympathetic element right on the spot. I mean you think of it this way. If your brother/sister was killed and you had to tend to the younger one. It would take time to recover, but given the brutality of their death can last a life time. Then say that your youngest sibling was killed by the person you most trusted. Everything unraveling just like that. Not even willing to give a hand, but to further their own means. That will fill almost everyone with a sense of insatiable rage. You have no home, no family, you lost whatever made you who you are. Though the difference is that Velvet keeps her sanity to a certain despite what has been done onto her. Then that number two, she names him after her brother since he’s like her brother. So there is that sense of responsibility she has. That also shows her regret for being unable to stop the demise of her brother. Velvet isn’t a character at face value for sure, her character and development is not direct but rather indirect. She is an excellently developed antihero from what I observed so far, and can’t wait to see more. The game really hits the tragedy element right on the nail. It starts off a bit slow, but progresses steadily. This game probably is not for the feint of heart either. It touches elements that other in its series didn’t.

No, we won't get to see the moment he turns into a dragon. But we get to learn why he eventually turn into a dragon. From an official book made by Bandai Namco, Eizen turns into a dragon 800 years later. (which is 200 years before Zestiria)

Proud to say this is my favorite jrpg. The story is probably a 8... or 9/10 at most. But... The combat, the dialogues between the characters, the character designs and their personal growth throughout the story... all of this in my humble opinion is a masterpiece.

The way the camera pans up to Titania from the tranquil sea, then you see Velvet's therion arm bust through the roof just as the guitar riff kicks in Seldom has there been a better way to open a video game

God, I love this game. Velvet is one of my favorite anti-heroes of all time, this game is one of my favorite RPG's, and by GOD, the OST is absolutely amazing.

Glad you enjoyed it. Welcome to Tales. If you're hungry for more, I would direct you towards of one of the big three (Symphonia, Abyss, Vesperia). Hopefully you won't have too hard of a time getting into them with Berseria being first, but I would suggest Symphonia or Vesperia personally.

This Tales of game is the first JRPG I've played and gotta say the battling tutorial and skits in the demo back in january made me so hyped to get the game I had to pre-order it just for that tiny extra bonus. I found the game through the Zestiria anime, and im so glad I did. Now after many months playing the game and grinding for good gear etc etc I still play this intro everytime that I dont accidentaly hit a button on the keyboard or controller. Its really great and I hope the game gets an anime one day. Velvet and magilou ftw OvO
