Man legretta had a huge fixation with that FOF early on, can't believe the fireball itself doesn't have a hitbox, was pretty surprised when you just jumped through it. I guess you could say that guy was, on fire today.

Not changing the song, nice choice. Awkward Justice is still a great boss track. :D At the end, Guy was showing us how it's done little bitches, Gardios style! That's how you dodge an attack with pizzazz, baby. He's either been taking lessons from Dante or he's more badass than Abyss can contain. :D

Absolutely amazing! I've got to applaud you for doing this no damage AND having smooth maneuvers to back it up. I also found it pretty smart that you used Moonlight Demon/Demonic Void's Demon Fangs for long range. And wow, that ending! I see this hasn't only happened to me. I have an outtake from Sword Dancer II with Guy doing the exact same backwards stunts. Saves me the trouble of uploading it, hah!

Thanks man! :D In the end going for the no damage didn't really make the battle that much longer than I thought (if you remember that other comment I made). Well, the Largo section would of been a lot shorter if I guarded hits to break that damn penetrate faster, but oh well :p lol yeah I remember you having some backward jumps so I was wondering if the tempest thing ever happened to you :p

Abyss definitely has some weird physics at times... I've pulled off backwards sliding guards and jumps in the 3DS version, although I can't say I've seen a backwards Tempest. Good thing jumps get you so much height in this though, certainly got you out of a few pinches!

Indeed, jumps are really helpful when you aren't playing with Free Run like I am, they also get a lot of momentum, so you can travel really far really fast with them. The backwards tempest is hilarious though, I was playing around with some normal mobs after this and if you keep doing tempest after the backward jumps and nothing else you will keep going backwards, so definitely a strange bug with the momentum there lol

omegaevolution Was curious and tried to do it in the 3DS version, and it works as well. Guess it was pretty much a straight port. EDIT: After a bit more testing, all you seem to need to do is the little backwards slide that gets you the backwards jump. After that, any arte that involves movement gets its momentum backwards. Kinda funny watching Natalia jump forward on Star Stroke while Luke Sonic Thrusts himself backwards...

I'm late to the party but wow I had to comment on such a brilliant fight. There are so many small things that make this video entertaining : how you used the target system to avoid Free run, how you jumped into searing sorrow and didn't get hit (because lol hitboxes) or how you denied Arietta's Mystic Arte. Simply amazing. By the way, did you find a way to predict Arietta's Big Bang? It seems she was gonna use it after Legretta's death or something.

Glad to see you back, Muc! :D Yes, as a matter of fact Arietta will always try to use Big Bang as soon as Legretta dies (if she is not casting something else already), thats why you see me using the OVL right at the beginning, so I can build it back up before Legretta dies and make Arietta's day a sad one :p Thanks for the comment man, hope you enjoy the rest of the vids you missed too!

Did it take many playthroughs to get your Guy so strong? I'm playing Abyss for the first time and wondering how to get characters AD skills/artes in a decent amount of time... at this rate I'll be stuck with 3 hit basic combos til the end of game (too slow to unlock Combo Plus ad skill). any advice is appreciated!

Basically your c.cores are what control when you learn most ad skills. Apart from special and over limit and free run. I can have a character strong like this by the end of a 2nd run. Then by the 3rd run you can have all party members this strong easily. Just get the c.core from nebilem

Ok... i've beaten this game twice in my 3ds, watched many Mistic Artes compilations... and now i've realised that Guy's MA is RAZING Phoenix, and not RISING Phoenix. It looked more logical to me as Rising (Especially if you consider how it ends). Also, love dat ending clip. We need someone to make a 'Deal with it' gif with that ASAP!

Well Rising Phoenix is a different arte altogether. Raze: verb- to destroy something completely So I guess you could say its a Phoenix that Destroys everything in its path to the skies, pretty accurate actually lol I don't know what the literal translation of the Japanese name would be, but w/e :p

omegaevolution "Houou" is phoenix, which a lot of Pokemon fans might instantly get, "ten" can mean heaven or sky or something related to the air depending on the context (in this case soaring, since Guy is jumping through the air) and "shouku" means "to drive (as in drive something inward, like a sword) quickly". Put it together and you have Phoenix Soaring Drive. Of course, there's probably a couple of other ways to interpret this.

Nothing can top my bias for Clip's Asch rendition of this fight but this is about your run, not his. Jeebus, what is there to say? Tempest = god tier oh shit button, use of re-targeting in order to change your direction was gr8mazing, no damage as usual, and you didn't over extend (even though I know you were getting bloodthristy when Legretta's health was at like 2k lol). Handled like a true professional, man. LOL At the end, not even Lloyd's crazy ass would do a backwards tempest! -Oh my god Van is next can't contain excitement squeeeeeeee-

I think Tear, Jade, and Natalia finally figured out that it's easier to just get slapped around a bit and nap on the ground while Guy goes God-Mode on everything. Then again, it's hard to argue with someone that can somersault forward with Tempest and still go backwards...
