⚡ 💀 💕 / 🌟 🌟 🌟 / ⚡ 💀 💕 /🔺 That was great. I wish more folks would watch those two songs from the Tokyo Dome Red Night back-to back. I also really appreciate how "coachable" you are. When you see several folks suggesting you might get more out of the experience by watching things in a particular order, etc., you're always very open to that. Pulling off 'Tales of the Destinies' live at Tokyo Dome with only two guitarists still blows my mind. A few changes, but it still sounds a lot like this studio track. Hope you like time signatures, we put as many in this song as we could fit. : ) Definitely a Dream Theater feel in this one. 'Images and Words' is one of BABYMETAL producer Koba's favorite albums. I grew up with early Pink Floyd, King Crimson, ELP and experimental electronic music. So I was very ready for this one when it hit. And of course 'THE ONE' is BABYMETAL's love letter to their fans. They were very happy that international fans made an effort to learn their songs, even though they are mostly in Japanese. To return the favor, they wrote this song, and dedicated it to the fandom. There is also a part Japanese/part English version of 'THE ONE'. That's the version they have on the official channel, with footage from the song debut at Yokohama Arena.

"Thinking about it would be useless. Don't think. Feel." This is one of my favorite Babymetal performances ever. Tales of the Destinies, starkly beautiful, the time signature and tempo changes contrasted with the harmonies of the girls. THE ONE, lushly beautiful, hits me very hard. The theme of community, that we are not alone, and we care about each other. Those 55,000 fans looked around them when the lights came on, and everywhere they looked, they saw THE ONE. THE ONE is like soaking in pure love for me. If you weren't a Kitsune before, you are now. We are THE ONE.

It is a very, very wonderful moment at 18:50 when Su looks out over the dark interior of the vastness of the Tokyo Dome and sees all the radio controlled neck-brace glow lights (again relit by Koba and his team) representing the 55,000 in attendance and Su drops her jaw in awe! Remember, everyone else saw this effect earlier. The ONLY three that didn't were Moa, Yui, and Suzuka (being transported at the time in the underground). Even though I presume they were told beforehand what Koba had planned, to see the effect on her, the result of all their labor, was/is really something and brings out the tears (as well as when she sings, "You know it's the truth" - 17:17 yes my queen!)

This whole performance is so special. Tales of the Destinies is such an interesting song and Su talked about how they barely even pulled this off live. They’ll probably never do this song again. One of a kind performance. There is some other stuff I could explain, but you’ll see in the guide ;) Edit: Also, The One always makes me cry, but everything kinda makes me cry so idk how much of an achievement that is lol

" Tales of the Destinies and The One " two Massive songs meet and perform on stage for the first time. yes , these two songs maybe not fans top fav song but we grateful they create " Tales of the Destinies " for their own Prog Metal metalhead fans. for " The One " a love letter song created just for their fans , this song maybe not fans number one song but WE proud to say that THIS IS OUR SONG.

It was obvious from the look on your face when Su started singing in The One, that you were touched by her singing in English, which is exactly what they intended to achieve out of gratitude for the fans making them feel the same by singing along with their Japanese songs. I‘m still in awe how perfectly the music of this song, the lyrics and the presentation fit together. Starting with that beautiful piano outro connecting it to TotD, than that fantastic, powerful scene with the neck braces that never loses its effect on me, to the extended final section where the whole crowd comes together accompanying the girls - it couldn‘t have been done any better. It feels like the whole arena is filled with love and positivity, and it makes me proud to be part of The One. Ironically, at around 18:58 when you said „oh wow, look at that scene“, you had just missed Su‘s facial expression saying exactly the same thing. Please check that scene out, it‘s one of the best moments of the whole video.

Tales Of The Destinies & The One:- Prog Metal at its best. Progressive music is not for everyone. This song shows that Babymetal & The Kami Band can play any type of genres that not many bands can do. Babymetal only performed this song once which is at the Tokyo Dome to a crowd of 55000 fans over two nights which total of 110000 fans. This is Progressive Metal different from Dream Theatre which focuses more on Rock. Su-Metal ear-in monitor malfunction just as the song is about to play. Su-Metal has to relied on The Kami Band tempo changes to be able to synchronise with The Kami Band. As pros, Babymetal did a superb job that night. Those who love progressive music will appreciate the technical aspects and precision of the Kami Band and Babymetal complicated choreography. The piano melody bridge will lead to the last song The One from their Metal Resistance Album. THE ONE:- This song was dedicated to the fans of which Babymetal referred to them as The One. As Babymetal perform all over the world, Su-Metal notice that the fans sang Babymetal songs in Japanese eventhough they don't understand Japanese. So this songs was composed specifically for the fans especially the non-Japanese speaking fans. Put Your Kitsune Up 🦊🦊🦊🤘🇯🇵🇸🇬. THE ONE THE ONE Chronology:- BABYMETAL - THE ONE Album: METAL RESISTANCE. It's really not complicated. Some people have enough empathy to tune into what Babymetal offers. Your ability to be a fan of Babymetal and how much a fan your are is proportional to your ability to empathize with the world around you. That's what makes "The One" (as in us the fans) something special. If you ever attend a Babymetal concert, connect up with the hardcore fans, you'll discover what I mean. What can possibly go wrong when you are in a room full of people who care about the person standing next to them and the world around them. Deadheads managed it in a hippy kind of way. Babymetal fans manage to do it with old farts, kids, teenagers, men, women, black, white, Japanese, British, Peruvians, Australians, Germans, Spanish, Mexicans, Venezuelans..... you'll have a metalhead in a Slayer shirt standing next to a JPop Idol fan wearing a Perfume T-Shirt standing next to a father with his nine year old daughter on his shoulders, and a brutal mosh pit breaking out behind them, a pit I've seen stop in totality because someone dropped something and the entire pit is trying to find it, it gets found, and people are right back to slamming into each other. I recall a newspaper review where one of those fathers with his daughter on his shoulders went into the pit with the mother running interference in front of them, arms held out to both sides. The author described the mother as if she were guarding someone playing basketball...... only at a Babymetal show.

Watching the guides is a fine idea. Whether you react to them or not they give good information on the beginnings of this thing we call Babymetal. I was like you a few short months ago. I knew nothing about this band. Only that they affected me. I learned. You will, too. No worries on our end. We would love to see your full reaction but you do what you gotta' do, my man. It's all good. We'll gather for any reaction you post. We are the One. Together. #DefinitelyACult Kitsune up! PS: I mentioned on your community tab that the first song would make your jaw drop and the One would make you cry. Success. Also, "Tales" isn't my favorite song of theirs either. Just the fact that the Kami Band learned it for this one show is just amazing. "The One" is a whole different story. Just flat out amazing. I teared up, too. Don't worry. It has that effect. See you!

No need to apologisse about it notbeing your fave song as Prog Rock is notorious for key and tempo changes. At least you had an appreciation of the skills needed by the band to perform it. They only performed TOTD once live - but as you can see, that didn't stop the ladies from working as hard as ever and creating, learning and performing a hard choreo routine for the performance. Babymetal always put a lot of work into their performances, which is just one reason we love them so much. 🦊🤘🤘🦊

I'm not a huge progressive metal fan. I'm not huge on Tales of the Destinies, either. I respect it. I will watch reactions to it with no hesitation. I will never, ever play it just because I want to hear it. It's impressive af. But I don't enjoy it. But it also bleeds into The One, which I do genuinely enjoy, and I also think the Tokyo Dome performance of them together is pretty much required watching for BabyMetal fans, even if it's only the once. (I love the moment in The One when Su breaks character.) The One is their love letter to fans, and it hits you hard in the feels. Every. Time. Thanks for the nice reaction. I'm Japanese and a big fan of BABYMETAL (fans are called "mates"). I'm proud that I was able to be here on the day of this live at Tokyo Dome, and I'll never forget the view of the vast shining sea created by 55,000 neckbrace. On the day of the concert, there was a typhoon hitting the area, and it was raining and storming outside. But inside the Tokyo Dome, BABYMETAL and "Kami-band" gave us such a wonderful performance that we forgot about such circumstances. Since I met BABYMETAL, I have been able to find meaning in my life. Great reaction, thanks! So many things... first, cannot be mad on you because TOTD. It's a very special song... I'm not a big fan of progressive metal and I really didn't understand a thing at first. But then, I watched this unique performance (and yes it's unique for real because this is the only live performance of TOTD) and together with The ONE, it became one of my favorite BABYMETAL moments. I really love the little choreographed jazzy piano piece as a breakdown in the middle of the guitar scales. And the moment Su sees the sea of neckbraces lit for the first time and Su-chan appears for just a second before she noticed it and went back to SU-METAL. Priceless! We really appreciate this kind of things. BABYMETAL is special since the very first moment. From the way they started to how they are doing now... there is literally no other band or group like them. So it's worth watching the longer guide mainly because there is so many information. But we will be okay with the compact version as well :) Until next time!

Looking at your earlier reaction videos, it seems like you have managed to miss three of the biggest fan favorites (unless maybe you've seen them, but they were blocked): - "Megitsune". The most performed song in the Babymetal catalogue, and perhaps their most quintessential track. I would suggest trying the music video, as it's one of the better ones. - "Road of Resistance". The official "live in Japan" version is famous for three things: The amazing stage presence of the girls, the great mosh pits, and that fact that Amuse loves to block anyone who reacts to it. There are of course other versions, but I really don't think they are quite as good. So maybe give it a try and add a big ass watermark? - "Rondo of Nightmare". One of Su's famous solos. And if you watch the version with the "Mischief of the Metal Gods" intro, then you'll get a solo from each of the Kamis as well!

If you do the shorter version of the Beginner's Guide as a reaction and plan to watch the longer version yourself, can I recommend waiting until after you watch the longer version to upload your reaction? If you found some things in the additional material you'd really like to talk about you can record it right away and add it on as an "epilogue" to your reaction, then put it up. And if not, then just upload it as is. Just a thought. (You can also break the longer one into two uploads, quite a few have done that).

You have to listen to TOTD a few times and then you'll be anticipating the time signature changes and picking out the rhythms. TOTD is my favourite BM song and I hope they do more of "prog rock", but I think this might be a one off given the direction they took on the last CD, Metal Galaxy. I bought the Tokyo Dome Delorean just for this and the bridge into "The One". The rest of the concert is awesome, but this is the only live performance of "Tales of The Destinies" and it's the height of Kobametal's art/artifice/showing off/seeing what he can get away with etc. It's very obviously a homage to Dream Theater, "The Dance of Eternity", even the two titles echo each other. This could have been a complete disaster but Babymetal bring their unique singing and dancing talents to the song and the Kami Band are fantastic...as they always are. To so obviously reference another awesome piece of music and yet still be different and brilliant on its own takes a lot of skill...and either guts or hubris. I love the way the ending resolves from the prog metal madness into a beautifully lyrical piano solo and then goes into The One.

Since you already reacted to Babymetal Death, just do the longer guide :D The One is the first song they wrote and Sung entirely in English: they were really touched that fans all around the world were learning japanese to sing along with them during show, so they wrote this love letter to the fans in english. This song has a full English version and an half japanese/half english version, you should check the official MV for THe One since there is an awesome stage! After this song, there are a few more english songs: "From Dawn Till Dusk" is in English, but it's kinda hard to tell since lyrics are hard to hear, and "Elevator Girls" has a full English and an half English / half Japanese version.

Nice reaction. Piano break in Tales of Destinies is just another example of Babymetal doing what they do best. I bet you didn't see that coming. The One they have performed more regularly. During this show They said the hardest part was sticking to the choreo because they wanted to wave to the fans. Not only do they got talent and skills but they got guts too. That triangle was high up there and they weren't nervous at all. For the Legend M show Moa did something close to this. She flew on to the stage on a Babymetal sign. Like it was butterfly wings. Sadly there's only a still shot of this. If anyone got vid please share that.

I've been putting this video aside for a while. This is very special to me. I was at Tokyo Dome for this. With the help of the Babymetal community and the new friends I'd made, they helped me get to Japan. It was the most amazing experience of my life. I keep pausing the video cause I can't stop my eyes from tearing up😂. I hope you get to see them live one day. Hopefully, maybe in Japan? Let's hope the world goes back to normal soon. This has been devastating, not being able to travel. Here's a slide video I made of the Tokyo Dome trip. kzbin.info/www/bejne/bpSapomBl9lsY5Y

During The One there were two things that struck me when I first saw this and I still get a kick out of. First, when Su sees all the neck braces light up and breaks character. See others' comments for the time reference. And second, just how happy Yui looks during the last parts. I do thoroughly enjoy listening to TotD after several initial hearings. And my mind's eye can't help but see Yui and Moa doing that kawaii bit of dance to that ragtime piano phrase even with just the studio track. Nice touch Mikiko-sensei.

Both guides are super informative and you'll definitely learn a lot about BABYMETAL. The difference about the guides is basically: one is less accurate, a bit out of date, with more hatred directed towards men, but entertaining because it contains a lot of humor (the one from rnegitsune) and the other is a pretty accurate and mostly still up to date pool of information without much added entertainment value (CrypticMisery). I don't know about the max video length you are able to upload, but if it's just a few minutes over you should do the guide you think fits you best and if the video gets to be too long, upload the "reaction" and upload another video with just your thoughts and impressions. Or split the whole thing in half at an appropriate point in the original video. There are different points in The One when one of them is tearing up or at least close to. In the moment before you said "look at that scene" (about 19 minutes into your vid) Su's facial expression pretty much said everything and she really needed to collect herself for a second. It's one of my favorite performances for the fact alone that it shows, even in their infinite professionalism, they are just girls and even they can be emotionally overwhelmed if it's 55k people equipped with a lit up neckbrace chanting along. This was by the way only the end of night one of their back-to-back Tokyo Dome shows.

That chorus rhythm is so hypnotic, not unlike the underlying rhythm of Pink Floyd's "Comfortably Numb" during a live show (Pulse comes to mind). As you watch more and more live performances, you'll notice just how much Su-metal's English has improved over the years.

Her English has improved. The only thing is though, while she was learning - it was soooo cute! I remember when she performed in Atlanta she called out "How are you doing "Atlant" ". I still call it Atlant whenever I drive through. P.S. I also wanted to say that when the three pop up in those hooded metallic golden robes - the majesty of the music, the regal-ness of their sliding toe steps, the grandeur of the venue, and the beauty of the face and voice of Suzuka as she emotionally sings around the center as she periodically flairs her gown - is - when Suzuka cemented in my heart that she is my queen. In America we don't have queens (we kind of got rid of them a while back), but . . . you know . . . it's kind of nice to have a queen!

Another great reaction. I was kind of lukewarm on TOTD the first time I heard it. It took several listens before it really stuck. Also, it's one of the very rare cases where I prefer the studio version. They did an incredible job on this live performance, but the studio version was obviously crafted with an incredible level of care and all of the parts click together *just so* I'm definitely looking forward to your reaction to the guide. It's time, for sure.

TOTD has to be my least listened to song off the three studio albums. I like it, I think, but every listen goes some way for me… it’s impressive for sure though. I love the video because of the dance breakdown you’ve highlighted. How about watching the long version of the guide and doing it in 2 parts?

Metal Hammer has decided to share a review of the shows TOKYO DOME red night & black night both shows sold out and 55,000 fans at each show. Four years on, these shows are still the most bonkers anywhere on the planet - this is Babymetal at the very height of their delirious powers.” This should not work (CUTE= KAWAII+METAL= BABYMETAL ) but it does nicely. Welcome to the journey that is BABYMETAL, ENJOY THE RIDE..... If you ever get a chance to see them live ( DO IT ) you wont be sorry!!!!! Dual guitar intro, who does not love that. Here is a girl from japan who learns to speak English for her fans!!! I mean what's not to love about BABYMETAL.......

Great reaction again. I agree with you 100% that you should look at the beginners guides to Babymetal and also the 'unhelpful guide' to help you understand more of the lore and history of the juggernaut that is Babymetal. One thing I found extremely helpful and interesting is to watch AJ Hartley's videos where he analyses the lyrics, culture foundations, performance and costumes of a range of Babymetal songs. I know you are already aware of him through his 'Thank You Babymetal' video project. Hartley's videos are a delicious deep dive into the intricacies of Babymetal performances. It is a great resource for us to have a Shakespeare professor who is fluent in Japanese and a mad Babymetal fan provide very thorough and technical analysis of BM songs. If you haven't watched them you should, they are fantastic. (of course you will need to watch them after you have reacted to each of the songs) Keep up the great work.

At first I don't like Tales of the Destinies because it's too progressive (Prog Metal in it's finest) But after I listen to it many times it's actually a great song and now it's one of my top babymetal songs. The instrumentation is insane! Some reactor who played instruments is amazed by this song, Because it's not easy to play.
