We've been so curious about what lies ahead of Barriss Offee after she was excommunicated from the Jedi Order. Excited to find out her story in episodes 4-6 in Tales of the Empire.

As Force Healer, they give up a little bit of their life essence. Hence Barris looking older.

Dustin, if you were stabbed with a light saber, there wouldn't be an explosion. The wound would cauterize itself. You wouldn't bleed out. That is how you survive it. If you ever been on a construction sight and seen someone cut of some appendage with a blowtorch , it is a sight to see...and smell. Fingers and toes are gone, and cant be replaced.

Fun fact: Dante is a Caphex, a new alien introduced at rise of Skywalker and the mole/hedgehog at the last episode is a Mohsenian, who also appears in rise of skywalker. Both are in the back ground along with many new aliens. It’s awesome seeing these aliens again, especially in this animation and different eras (like Abednedo, the aliens with tendrils around their mouths from force awakens in Jedi fallen order)

I mean, it sounds like she was involved in the Path and even if this is the end we could see her in a show where that is established. But I would love to see her in Ahsoka.

It also seems like the leaders of the Path have a title so to speak like a code name "The Traveler" The Healer" etc. I really liked Bariss' story here.

I like to think Barriss is alive. I like to think Barriss also was able to help that young male Jedi Lynn "killed" and the others on that mountain, after she yeeted Lynn off the cliff. Barriss told him she would help him. I wonder how long of a time jump it was between each episode. I wonder how long Barriss really was an Inquisitor, Initially, I did think it was odd Barriss was pretty obvious in giving away where Lynn could find the child, but I guess her plan all along was to help "redeem" Lynn??

0:48 What part of the Clone Wars made you believe Barriss turned to the Dark Side of the Force? She was against the Jedi being part of the war, not the Jedi as a whole. Barriss felt that they had lost their way and she had, unfortunately, taken extreme measures to make a course correction. She wasn't trying to end the Jedi, just their involvement in the war. I'm happy her story started off as it did, as it showed that she was still very much tied to her brothers and sisters. She never gave up on them; she never gave up on her hope, that they would abandon the war. 4:19 Exactly. She wasn't a Sith or a Dark Jedi. She was just against their involvement in the war. That's it. She was a less extreme version of Pong Krell, another Jedi who had fallen from grace that we met in the Clone Wars. 7:01 No, that was the jewel embedded in Ahmar's chin. Was it yanked out via the Force or cut out? Either way, I'm sure it was slow and painful. Ouch! 9:15 She did indeed, self-defense. She didn't want to kill him, but he gave her no choice. 10:37 I love how Barriss doesn't let her natural voice say "Long live the Empire," but the fabricated voice the Empire gave her. Barriss wasn't given a real choice in her jail cell, and she knew it. She's been in survival mode ever since. 18:10 Barriss never stopped being a Jedi. She still identifies as one. The Jedi are negotiators of peace. This explains why she wanted to stand up for the people who had nothing and wanted to defend the child who had told her where the Jedi were. Barriss made it very clear that she was a Jedi when she told Lyn that she still had one Jedi to deal with. I don't think Barriss was confused about her place. She knew what she had been told was true, that the Jedi were no more. As far as she knew, she was the last of her kind, but as a person in survival mode, she was doing just enough to stay in good standing. Lyn made it perfectly clear what the Empire stood for, and that was the moment when Barriss knew that the Empire was not for her. 18:25 Lyn is the same Inquisitor that we saw in Obi-Wan, so she is alive alright--Fortress Inquisitorius was being built in the previous episode and was completed in Obi-Wan, which was approximately 10 years later going off of Leia's age (Leia and Luke were born just after Order 66). 22:32 How did she survive that? What makes the Sith different from the Jedi? The need to have revenge; the inability to let go. Darth Vader, Maul, the Grand Inquisitor, Reva and now Lyn are all Force-sensitive beings who couldn't let go and accept death. Their desire to live and have their revenge is what staved off death. Qui-Gon, in contrast, let go and accepted his fate. He believed that his padawan was ready and would win the day. Revenge of the Sith gave us a good picture of what it means to be Sith with Palpatine's talk with Anakin at the theater. They were talking about the power to stop death/evade death. Palpatine told Anakin that he wouldn't be able to learn that trick from a Jedi, implying that it was something only Sith could do, and he was right. Palpatine couldn't let go either, and it is that desire to live and hold on to power that brought him back in episode 9. 27:04 I think she did live--why would Lyn still speak to Barriss as though she were alive if she were dead? I know some reactors are using visible breath as a guide, but that's a mistake, in my opinion. Barriss is hurt and now unconscious. Our bodies at rest don't require the same amount of heartbeats or breaths to keep going. Shorter breaths and fewer heartbeats will sustain her until Lyn gets her medical attention, which is what she is assuredly going to do. I hope we get more stories of Lyn and Morgan. These stories add to what we already know about the characters. We knew Morgan was someone looking for acceptance, and now we know why. We knew Barriss was a disillusioned Jedi, and I think it is safe to assume that we all thought that she was killed during Order 66 like all the other Jedi because, well, she was a Jedi. Barriss' story confirmed that she was indeed still a Jedi, but showed us that she survived Order 66, and it showed us how she did it! I love these short stories. They are so much better than they should be, lol. Dooku's story gave us a backstory the prequels couldn't. Ahsoka's story showed us more of who she was and how she managed to survive Order 66 while the overall story of Star Wars tells us that other Jedi couldn't. While I want more stories in this format, I would also like to see these stories further fleshed out. Imagine if someone gave Morgan Elsbeth a hug. She could have been a very different person helping the Rebellion.

I immensely appreciate your comment on Barriss’ character, and who she is. Many people are either shallow minded or are just not choosing to watch and understand the canon material for Barriss-claiming that she should have “stayed evil.” Or, they’ll use the example of her orchestrating the bombing the Jedi Temple as irredeemable-when we have seen WAY worse acts done by characters who were redeemed rather quickly *cough cough* Anakin/Vader. Barriss had a Jedi upbringing, a strong moral code, and actively lived for the light side of the force. But, anybody can fall to the dark side. We have seen countless individuals have moments of embracing the dark side, whether it be for a minute or a period of time, but they returned back to the light. Barriss did this, and I thought it was beautifully done.

The shrinking circular arena in episode four is a nod to the Jedi Temple training room we Ahsoka in during Tales Of The Jedi. Only lethal, because Inquisitors are dicks.😜

The first three episodes were "OK", but they showed me nothing I didn't already know about Morgan. They weren't a "waste of time", but there are so many stories in the Star Wars universe that I'd much (much) rather have seen three episodes about.

THANK YOU DAVE FILONI for using the word "children" instead of that asinine "youngling" term! Can we talk about the incred music here? Particularly the strings in episode five when Lyn was murdering everyone. So dissonant.

But the term "youngling" tells us that a kid is a Jedi learner since it's like a rank they have in the Jedi Order.

Well, she didn’t get run through the chest. It was just below the diaphragm on the left side so she could still be ok. I think they left that open for a purpose. They could bring her back and you can come up with your own thought too.

I should have known you want to see the reaction of Ezra and Ahsoka in return of Jedi six years before if Rebels season five will connect with Empire strikes back and return of Jedi when George Lucas will be 80 and Dave Filoni will be 50 - just as you want to see the reaction of Ahsoka when She see Anakin fall in the dark side of the Force and survives Order 66 before clone Wars will interrupted. Now, I'm going to do what I should have done if they should Barriss Offee when Rebels begin... Eleven years ago!!

There will never be grey Jedi in Star Wars. Dave wouldn’t allow it, especially not now since he’s CEO idk how many years it’s gonna take fans to stop asking that question. Just because there’s no Order doesn’t mean they are grey Jedi lol..same for Ahsoka who literally has a padawan jedi in Sabine. Now can there be a mixture like a Mando Jedi? Yeah but the thing is they are still just a Jedi.

I think because it's something discussed in star wars books etc that it comes to mind for people. I think it would be interesting to discuss concepts that the Jedi Order made mistakes in doing like taking children away from their parents and detaching from love or human connection. Having people repress emotions doesn't make them go away it just makes you unable to recognize the emotions you buried down deep stunting your emotional intelligence which usually leads to manifesting itself later into things like anger which can lead to people turning the dark side later, you end up creating the thing you were trying to prevent by being too strict or severe in your teachings. The good guys can make big systemic mistakes too and I think that's not only fascinating to explore it's very accurate, no one can be immune to mistakes or losing their way. When something grows large and in power that power can corrupt, it can inflate your own ego and arrogance can grow especially if you think your way is always the "right way" and don't want others to question things or even you question yourself whether what you are doing is actually right.
