They kind of nerfed it in Xillia. While you can’t insta cast it with Rowen, you can still shorten it’s casting time by mixing normal attacks and artes...and abuse the one skill he has that lets him resume casting spells from where he left off no matter what xD

I have heard about Rita being broken but wow, nice video, I need to try playing as Rita myself. I kind of wish the Tales games would do more crossovers between their universes, I know Tales of Berseria and Zestiria are connected but I would love it if they made more connections. It would be cool to see the Vesperia characters make cameos in future Tales games.

Ever since Eternia every Tales game (minus Legendia and Rebirth) has a cameo fight in the coliseum where you fight previous Tales characters as superbosses. The cameo fights were retroactively added into Phantasia's, Destiny's and Innocence's remakes. And many Tales games are share the same universes you pointed out Zesteria and Breseria, but there's also Xillia 1&2, Destiny 1&2, Phantasia& Smyphonia and the Triverse of Temptest, Innocence and Hearts.

Zestiria was pretty good, but other games were so much better. Vesperia and Xillia are some of my favorite games. If you have the consoles, definitely buy the games

joeynuma Fair enough. But I thought Tales of Symphonia was one of the worst Tales games I've ever played, only beaten out by Dawn of The New World. Now that game was a monstrosity. My favorites so far, are Tales of Xillia 1, and 2, along with Tales of Graces F. I want to play Vesperia, but I no longer own a 360, and I'm not sure if I want to spend money on a console, just so I can play one game.

Honestly, it seems to me like the really broken thing is instant-cast magic in over limit. If Rita had to do full incantations it wouldn't be broken at all as far as I can see.

@Idonthaveanamelol when overlimit is active, she says "blah blah blah [spell name" instead of the proper incantations. The trick is keeping overlimit up all the time...Tidal Wave is good at that. So is violent pain.

The english voices are on the PS3 version disc but you need to mod your PS3 to access them and patch the game for written dialouge to be in English

I see that Kratos is the one that gave you the most trouble by dodging your attacks (required to activate your mystic arte), went to overlimit so he can't flinch from your tidal wave, and even use his mystic arte. However, you still manage to beat him.

What makes Rita Mordio my most hated characters in Tales of Vesperia is her incessant need to call people idiot for absolutely no reason. Rita should realize that just because she knows something does not mean she is better at everything, true intelligence comes from being aware that you are not intelligent and that you are always ready to learn new things, she tends to antagonize her teammates for doing as such. Not to mention her relationship with Karol, she tends to smack him across the head, you would think by now that either Karol would learn to dodge or block her attacks or the members of Brave Vesperia would intervene. That is the kind of character direction Tales of Vesperia failed to follow.

Tidal Wave is just as good in Tales of Xillia and it has no instant cast. Just make sure the weapon's stats are maxed and one hit everything with it.
