*spoilers!!!!!!!* okay, I've played this game and there were a lot of uncleared things for me... In the game, didn't we find out that the previous Shepherd, Michael died 20 years ago and placed the curse on Heldalf 20 years ago? Also, Sorey and Meebo was born when all this happening, making them 20 years old. Right? So why does everyone keep saying Heldalf spent a Life of Eternal Solitude?? 20 years really isn't all that long to be single lol...

one of the sites theorized that it was deliberate in the view of Michael. He wanted to keep the Seraphs and Shepherds safe from humans especially with the rising malevolence, mind you that the 2 countries were at warlike state already when he was in the village and writing the book, so he wrote the timeline off by adding extra digits. Also, considering what happens late in the game it was justified. Dont remember if Heldalf was mentioned (since he became Hellion after Michael's death) but the lord of calamity surely was, maybe again to ward off meddlers.

I agree Yukine (your picture is from Noragami, another favorite anime of mine, though I prefer the manga). ToZ game version is supposed to have a prequel (tales of berseria=berserk + female?) and a sequel but don't know if sequel would push through becoz of controversial issues in the original story that affected the sales of the game (some gamers hated yaoi/BL vibes in the game and Soralish fans complained too much). Idk there's nothing wrong with BL vibes, sorey n mikleo's relationship is part of the story theme... I just hope fans see the whole story not just ship boy x girl even if there's no romance there.

There are many kinds of anime where boy x girl are like siblings or just best friends but not like sorey x mikleo where friendship goes deeper than that... The only problem was seraphim culture may be familiar with human sexuality but they do not need sexual relationships to procreate... so no distinction between romance n friendship n brotherly love. You only realize it's deeper by inference: Translation from Japanese says when a human becomes a vessel he forgets everything but for some vessels, most important feelings get retained--not memories-. When sorey becomes a vessel, in the game n light novel version, sorey DOES return to mikleo (so reaosn for returning is not based on memories of childhood but instinct--which you can say is like subconscious impulses or attraction)... In French, translation is more explicit--they're called "couple" by other seraphim and the balcony scene is like a confession--where mikleo suggests that he knows they have a bond but he doesn;t like Sorey to give up becoz of him. But even in the English dub version, the lastonbell scene implies a lot... Sorey suggests that emotions are like stars--they're "there" even if you don't see them, and they shine. Mikleo intentionally catches on but tries to avoid this by saying there are many stars they haven't seen from Elysia (meaning "Alisha" is one of those stars becoz she was their first human friend outside Elysia) but Sorey ignores this n says "if only people can see the seraphim they woud realize how much they shine..". (I asked a Japanese about this, n he says when things get translated in English it comes out as very indirect--but for the Japanese it is obvious when person wants to say something personal and uses indirect ways of saying it--for them the indirect way is direct/accepted way of expressing it) and in the light novel version that's how it is--he says Mikleo has a beauty that catches attention easily and he hopes people will see how beautiful he is... As for Alisha, she's described as "elegant and respectable woman" not a beautiful girl-- I compare game n lightnovel becoz Bandai Namco writers did it,not like the anime version which was adaptation by uforable writers/staff... Sorry for this long explanation... It's just that a lot of people do say they're just brothers... but I've seen a lot of anime with sibling n best friends as protagonists... n there are a lot of differences. It's not just sorey worrying about mikleo or being nice to him... It's everything else--the tone, the body language, n the fact that he assumes mikleo should be by his side ALL the time and his subtle jealousies (Sorey used angry tone with mikleo only thrice--when he didn't want mikleo to be sublord, when mikleo was ignoring everyone but edna, and when mikleo kept talking to rose n couldn't fight beside him. And the teasing with alisha, he denied he was lonely without her then was about to say "Well, you know..." then mikleo smiles n everybody looks away from the two of them...It's so obvious that if they were boy x girl everyone would assume they're a couple...

Well Zestiria felt kinda confusing because it's the sequel from Beseria. I feel Beseria has deeper storyline ,meaningful conversations and great character development.

Zestiria is not a Sequel. Berseria is a Prequel to Zestiria. Something cannot be a Sequel if it was made first.

Sergei Strelka "Something cannot be a Sequel if it was made first" LMAO what did you mean? like you said Berseria is the prequel of Zestiria and that means Zestiria indeed the sequel of ToB dude. Both of these Tales had written in same time and projected to only be played in PS3 but later they converted it to PS4 and made them into two different games but in the same universe. The timeline has a 1000+ years gap but still Zestiria has the continuation events from Berseria.Zestiria released by BNEI first because it was for new experimental Tales Of project for new next generation consoles (read:PS4) , they decided to run the series backwards from Zestiria to Beseria and slightly altered again the battle mechs .

Well i surfed the google a lot even when ToB was still a teaser, do i need to give all of the sources.One from Wikipedia : "The scenario was written by Naoki Yamamoto, who had previously worked on Zestiria.[23] Despite being a distant prequel to Tales of Zestiria-taking place in the distant past and containing references-the game's story was designed to be able to work on its own. This distant connection concept was inspired by the developer's wish to emulate the similar distant narrative connection between Tales of Phantasia and Tales of Symphonia". The scenario author has already written the plot for Berseria since the development of Zestiria or even when Zestiria was still an early project in 2011 or even before they made the project , i meant he obviously couldn't design the whole "Shepherd and Malakhims/Seraphims" world to be connected to each other if he didn't create the whole story at the first place, how could he even properly develop such a character like Zaveid,the origin of Shepherd vs Lord Calamity or the story between Edna and Eizen if he didn't make the whole storyline before the these both "Tales Of" projects even began.And of course they are not exactly or literally "written at the same time" like drinking beers and eating pizza at the same time, the teams obviously did some revising to the storyline too for making the story development perfect even for a backward storyline ,but the whole idea of these both games was they created to be an one universe with continuation events that connect each other. They,BNEI has been developing the tales of games for 20 years, so they are experts and caused a lot of expectations for every game they made or the ones tthat are still projected.Sorry for my long ass comment but i wanted you to know the reasons behind my comments to your "not a Sequel" thing and if my english doesn't sound perfect at all to you then pardon me cuz it's not my first language,peace out.

Yes, it's a secret bad ending. I don't recall how you trigger it, it's just that you have to fight Heldalf every early on in the Aifread Hunting Grounds to trigger it.

If you go to Aifread’s Grounds, you’ll get caught in Heldalf’s domain. If you find, fight, and kill him there, that triggers the bad ending.

Sorey sleeps for centuries purifying the source of the malevolence then wakes up and meets mikleo (who is still alive becoz seraphim live long lives). While he slept new shepherds took over and one of them is that boy holding a copy of the celestial records at Rose's grave (Rose replaced Sorey as shepherd but she passed away before Sorey woke up).

Uh, idk alisha n rose are hard to compare becoz if u play the game u will see how interesting rose's character is.. Alisha is a controversial character becoz her part in the original story was minimal--but understandable becoz she was just catalyst to give Sorey info about human world that would lead to his becoming a shepherd. Sadly so many alisha fans wanted boy x girl romance between sorey n alisha n dragged out too many side issues that ignore the theme of the story= human x seraphim coexistence, not human x human romance...

It was Rose's grave."Numin" is her name written in the Glenwood tongue (well it actually spells 'Roser,' but that's the official spelling). Her signature twin daggers are also on the grave with the much older version of the twins from her guild attending the funeral (meaning that everyone else, e.g Alisha, has passed on prior to this, because they also would have attended). The other Shepherd is presumably someone who took the mantle from Rose as Shepherd when she could do it no longer and he is seen with his water Prime-lord. As he's got Sorey's copy of the celestial record (Sorey's copy has silver trimming, while other copies have gold trimming), we can assume he probably trained under her and was handed down the celestial record. Whether he's related to anyone or just a random is anyone's guess.

He doesn't die. He falls asleep becoming Maotelus' vessel, so that others (Rose included) can purify all the malevolence and humans can finally see seraphim. He stays like that for a long time, until the final scene with Mikleo, when he rescues him in the ruins :3

Same I never saw it once in the game and was also curious. And I'm editing my post now. That's apparently the bad ending. If you beat Heldalf at the Aifread hunting grounds then you get that cutscene. Reason why you and me never got it was cus we never did it (I couldn't beat him there and believe me I tried many times, I had heard there was another cutscene that would play but never saw it).
