Osaka was the 7th largest city in the world in 2017, but it will still be the 9th largest city in the world in 2023. It is the second largest city in Japan.

Love your mask! Where did you find them? Love your travel in Japan can’t wait to see more. Trying to book flights to Japan for next March but they really expensive. Where flights the same?
@TalesFromOurPocket2 жыл бұрын
Thank you!! I bought a fun multi-colored box of masks on Amazon. I will say that we were the only ones with bright masks - most were black, white, or tan. 😊 And yes, flights were not cheap! Thankfully we had some airline points we could use. Whew. 😁

Really enjoying your videos! 💖 I'm wondering: did you have any communication problems when buying food? I'm trying to learn some Japanese, but I'm worried about missing out on yummy food if I can't communicate! Hoping to visit in 2024.
@TalesFromOurPocket2 жыл бұрын
We couldn't communicate - at all. 😂 We used Google Translate as best as we could, and then pointed at things. It usually worked. Many times, we didn't know what we were eating (is this bread? Fried tofu? Pork? 😂). It sort of added to the food adventure, to be honest! We never knew what we were going to get and that was a lot of fun. 😁😁 If you miss out on something, you'll have to go back again someday. 😉

@3:22,... they are muscat grapes from Okayama Prefecture, I think I would buy as a present or for family shrine ... @4:18 the sign says something like 「you need to walk your bike in this place」 ... if you go back, I really liked Osaka Excel Hotel Tokyu in the Namba district. My Osaka relative's apartment is too small, so I have to stay in an hotel. Namba is a little high crime but it is close to Dotonbori and the shopping arcade here is really interesting, lots of textile and clothing shops. ww! eating and walking is so bad ! (>-
@TalesFromOurPocket2 жыл бұрын
Ahhh, that makes sense about the grapes! It seemed they were special in some way. 😊 Thanks for the Namba tip! You're fortunate to have a relative in Japan (we totally understand about the small apartment though!). 😁

@@TalesFromOurPocket hahaha! ... my flat is in Chiba Prefecture but it's locked up so now I go to Kansai,... it's not 100% true but Osaka people are so friendly and funny,... I had to ask directions from random people and they turn it into a comedy routine (>-

@@TalesFromOurPocket (^-^) ... I have too many relatives in Japan ! it's a pain to go back all the time, especially in miserable Summer,... since we're strangers, this a just a suggestion,... I really like Kinosaki Onsen in Hyogo Prefecture. It's less than three hours by train from Osaka but onsen and fish are really great !

There are many soft things in Japan, and there may be things that do not suit foreigners. In particular, there are many people who say that bread is useless. On the other hand, many people say that Japanese sweets don't have to be too sweet. Anko is divided into pros and cons, but... Anko =Red Bean Paste

Love your video! I’m Japanese but never been to Osaka, so there was so much to learn in your video thanks 😊 Btw you can eat while walking in Japan. Many people nowadays do that a lot 😂 Maybe in the past, it was not acceptable but now you can see many businessmen eating on their way to work. Anyway look forward to the next one!!
@TalesFromOurPocket2 жыл бұрын
Oh, thank you so much for telling us that!! We didn't know it's OK now (obviously). 😂 😂
As アリス states, no, don’t eat or drink and walk. There are some exceptions, basically festivals, but even there you won’t actually see it very much. Standing and eating is ok, so long as you’re out of the way. In front of that closed shop like you were was a good choice. Most little sitting areas like the one you were at are usually ok also, though always be mindful of any unexpected rules signs! 😅 I’m glad you guys are so respectful. A lot of foreigners pick up the bad habit of thinking that if they see one bad mannered Japanese/Asian person do something then that must mean it’s ok! 😔

@@TalesFromOurPocket I live in Japan and people usually just stand and eat. You can eat them right beside the store. Or if there isn’t any “No Eating” signs, then you can eat anywhere. You can even drink alcohol anywhere anytime in Japan.
