The Chains that Rust introduced the hybrid classes. Also along with expansions, you have a card only expansion Lost Legends which give two new classes and eight hybrid classes. There are three fully cooperative expansions available as well. These are Dark Elements, Nature’s Ire and Forgotten Souls. These expansions require downloading manuals from Fantasy Flight’s website.

Thank you for the video, although... To be honest... This overview was much more dry and shallow than I expected... Like watching someone summing up the components of each box... I admit, I expected much more. (Or in other words, maybe it's not you, it's me). I was really hoping that you will actually share more of your thoughts and experience.. At least for anything that you had beyond the base game scope. Did you mix the 1st edition characters while playing the 2nd? There are so many! How was it? How was playing any of the expansions? I wish that now at least, 3 years later, you will be able to share much much more.. Even here, in a response to my comment, which its entire purpose was an honest share with you as the content creator. If you find my opinion legit, and if anything has been change since you've been uploaded it, I'll be more than happy to be informed... Peace

The thing is, this is meant to be a retrospective so only covering the facts with out my personal opinion. There's plenty of reviews of products but sometimes they lack in facts and information which is why I started this series.

Hopefully Descent 3rd edition focuses purely on co-op, with the app integration built in from the beginning. I just can't get into 1 vs Many games, especially those in which the 1 is an adversary and not a Dungeon Master meant to facilitate a good adventure. The Road to Legends app makes Descent 2nd edition great, and, IMO, the way the game should have always been, but it's not as good as the new LotR game, or Mansions of Madness 2.0.

Yeah I have played it both ways but really like the coop with the app, and I had reservations about apps in table top games but it works really well. I still got to get the new LotR game!

I agree but I'm not a fan of apps on ipads as I've watched many games and people are spending more time reading and fiddling with the app than actually playing the game and having fun banter, everyone is glued to the app instead of playing and chatting lol That's my experience. Love co-op even better... if they created and app which intellegently DM, even via speech so you can move and enact it's moves and just press next for the next part of the DM's turn. this way everyone is engrossed in the game and not glued to a screen lol

Mark Lyne the app is part of the game. It’s not a separate thing people are spending time fiddling with. It’s just like reading an book of tales or cards with random encounters. In Tales of the Arabian Knights people spend time fiddling with the adventure book. Same as an app in games with apps. Technology in board games can be a very good thing.

Michael Cotton silly or not, I think it’s coming. Probably sooner than many think. The LotR game has a very different feel, and I think it was kind of a test for Descent 3.0.

I hate apps but I still love Descent 2e co-op or solo 😊
