This is a great use of lighting and HV. I have used in creating more dynamic windows with painting clipped in walls, HV white light inside the room to make it look like daylight shining through, or on the outside windows in a fire lit room with HV orange light to give the exterior of a structure more real feel.

Holy crap! Why have I not thought about using hide volumes on lights before... good grief. I've just been hiding the lanterns in the roof and when they walk in, it flies off into the sky. Thank you so much for this video!

Usually my lighting brings down the mood and generally doesn't impress. But after watching this video I'm confident that I can use effective, smart lighting that will not only set the tone of the adventure but also impress my friends and win over my enemies!

Tnx this is a game changer! I always had problems with lighting spaces, specially in a moody night scene it's very hard to keep a balanced environment. A suggestion! When you are plugging something in a video, it would be beneficial to place the link to that thing in the description :)

Lighting is always a pain in TS, as you clearly point out .. thanks for this I never really got into the whole hide volume thin g but I might have to give it a go now

Hello! Whenever I try to hide my lighting via the hide volumes, the light they shed disappears also. Is there something I am doing wrong? EDIT: apparently you just need to right click on them and select filters to allow lighting to show still.

Correct! Yeah, right click it and you can choose what it hides - props, creatures, or lighting effects.
