My 10yo lost all his punch when the bottle was about 1/3 full. All my bottles are well preserved out of of light and I also check that the cap isn't dry. I guess the 10yo reacted a lot with air. So beware...dont hold your bottle low for too long! Nice review !

Was it the newer release ? My old release bottle lasted 2 years without any losses . I think the new release lost some punch .

Interesting comparison ! But like you, I'd plump for the 10. I like edgy malts and the 10 is a like it or love it whisky. Tally 10 will always be on my shelf no matter where I am on my whisky voyage.

Wonderful review as always! I was searching on youtube and google for a review to know the basic differences amongst the various Chivas regal whisky (12, 18, 21, 25) but i couldn’t find any! the only ones that i could find it was about the JW range. Talisker destilers edition, have more rounded flavours and it doesn't have the sharpness of a 10 year old. Its smoky, its fruity, little salty, well balanced whisky. Its my daily sipper.

Yes I agree, the DE definitely is more rounded and I really enjoy them both, but I miss the punch of the 10 in the DE. Have you tried the Port Ruighe? I think it's a better version of the DE using Port casks as opposed to Amoroso casks.

@McIntyre's Malts i dont own a bottle, but i have tried. in my opinion its a bit more sweeter, and it looses some of the saltiness of a DE, and a 10. Thanks for the recommendation. i also would like to recommend a everyday sipper, Balblair 15 i think its a jem under radar.
