And an unbeatable charisma. *Olga Korbut was the revolution, way ahead of her time.* Many times conservative judges saw her skills like circus. That's why 10s were impossible to the revolutionary Olga. In 1988 she became the first gymnast to be inducted into the International Gymnastics Hall of Fame. Not Nadia.

They have a small bit of foam on top, and then it's covered with a leather suede type material so it's not as slippery, and your feet can grab easier! Especially if u have beam shoes on! I believe now days, however, they have some spring type mechanism, which, if that's true, would make it more forgiving when u land, and also give u more propulsion if your adding a second trick! I think that's a little cheating, but it's all about the wow factor now days! 😊

I never get tired of watching her. Her grace and incredible flexibility in that little petite body is mesmerizing!! I met her years later when she taught gymnastics in Atlanta. She was still petite and actually took the time to work with my daughter for about 15 minutes, teaching her how she could perfect her skills. My daughter, who is 36 now, was 7 at that time, and she remembers that fondly to this day.

Because of that, the world sat up and took notice of this tiny Russian girl that stunned the world with her ability. Because of her, women's gymnastics became the venue to watch. LOVE how Olga takes her time. The viewer REALLY gets to take in, enjoy & appreciate each movement.
