When I was YW president, I really struggled to get along with one of the Bishopric counselors. I felt like he micromanaged me and was condescending - definitely triggers for me of past trauma! Then one day during ward council, out of nowhere it was like I got hit across the head - all of a sudden I caught a glimpse of him as God saw him. I was shaken, and then incredibly humbled. I knew without a doubt he was a beloved son of God with infinite worth. How could I ever let petty interactions stand in the way of my loving him? It was one of the most profound spiritual experiences I’ve had in my life. I’m so grateful to Heavenly Father for allowing me that glimpse of who he truly was. It’s changed my whole outlook on my fellow brothers and sisters.

This hits home in a big way! And ever since Sunday morning session of conference, culminating with Pres Nelson's talk, I have felt my soul this message hit my soul square in the chest. I keep having a strong feeling that I must strive to end conflict in my life, otherwise how can I truly say that I am a disciple of Jesus Christ, having taken His name upon me, if I am unwilling to put forth my best effort and seek His help in doing so. Your invitation to pray for 7 days is perfect. Thank you. We live in Oceanside CA, and yes, we know and adore Elder Fossum. Incredible missionary!! ❤

I appreciate when you are quoting someone, that you put it in the description notes. I'm a note taker (because my forgetter is better than my rememberer). this episode was almost all of my note taking!! When you give an example of how to see the scriptures, Matthew 23:13-29 . . . WOW! That changes a lot for me. ~ Before retiring, I worked in Customer Service . . . need I say more? I had to be kind to everyone, no matter what they said or how they said it. It was a difficult job.~ Ganel-Lyn, I had problems with my name, also. I wasn't teased by classmates. It was my 8th grade English teacher!!! Every day for a week, I would correct her on how she would pronounce my name. Every day she would pronounce it the way that she felt it should be pronounced. After a week, I gave up. I felt like she didn't care. I did care, it was my Grandmother's name, but . . . showing respect for my teacher, after a week of correcting her, I gave up. On the last day of school, I told a couple of my friends in class, if she didn't pronounce my name correctly, I wasn't going to turn in my books. Guess what? She pronounced my name correctly!!! That's when I realized that she was making fun of me, my name. From that time on, I wouldn't allow anyone to get by mispronouncing my name incorrectly, again. BTW, my nickname is Netta

It is so helpful when you call yourselves out in certain areas meant to be discussed. First, I know I'm not alone in my shortcomings. Second, since you know you will be forgiven and will receive an opportunity to try, try again, I can know and embrace that we are here to learn and succeed. I'm so grateful for His grace. ❤️🇨🇦❤️
