Talk Talk were an English band formed in 1981, led by Mark Hollis (vocals, guitar, piano), Lee Harris (drums), and Paul Webb (bass). The group achieved early chart success with the synth-pop singles "Talk Talk" (1982), "It's My Life", and "Such a Shame" (both 1984) before moving towards a more experimental approach informed by jazz and free improvisation in the mid-1980s,pioneering what became known as post-rock. Talk Talk achieved widespread critical success in Europe and the UK with the singles "Life's What You Make It" (1985) and "Living in Another World" (1986); in 1988, they released their fourth album Spirit of Eden, which was critically acclaimed but commercially unsuccessful.
Lyrics:
Baby, life's what you make it
Can't escape it
Baby, yesterday's favorite
Don't you hate it
Baby life's what you make it
Don't back date it
Baby, don't try to shade it
Beauty is naked
Baby, life's what you make it
Celebrate it
Anticipate it
Yesterday's faded
Nothing can change it
Life's what you make it
⬢ SIMMONS SDS V
The Simmons SDS V was the first (analog) viable electronic replacement for acoustic drums. It was developed by Richard James Burgess and Dave Simmons, manufactured initially by Musicaid in Hatfield, UK, and commercially released in 1981.
The SDS-V was a really popular system, used by many of the big names in the 80's.
It was 'module' based so you could start with 5 modules and expand it to 6 or 7 in total.
There was also different types of modules, toms, bass drum, snare and hi hat.
Also it had 'patch memories', of sorts anyway. These were basically trimmers that were recessed below the panel. You could also use it in a 'free' mode where the sound you had was the sound set on the knobs.
