Hey Chris, i had a question, i have a good small miners lode claim of 160 acres... Problem is im getting too old to work it and never had enough equpment to get the full potential out of it... Anyways, i heard through the goldvine that you are very good at finding and selling claims... Anyway i can DM somehow and see if you would be interested in helping me sell this and 50% commission to you, cheers! 🥂
@RonEarling773 ай бұрын
How much output do you expect, and have you had the claim appraised yet? Make sure you don't sell it short or for much less than you could get...I'm sure Chris would have a few good contacts for you, good luck!!
@ChrisRalph3 ай бұрын
I'm sorry but I don't offer any service to find, evaluate or sell claims for folks. I stake my own claims and sell them to mining companies, but I don't offer a service for others. Best of luck to you, I hope you are successful in finding a buyer.
@50Quid-d3xАй бұрын
Lode claims are only 20 acres... not 160 acres. Association placer claims are 160 acres and generally require several owners. PLEASE anybody correct me... if I'm wrong. Sincerely. Most dig in the dirt operations are gona require staking 20 acre lode claims to be valid. Maybe you have 8-20 acre load claims?

I have a question on detection does the type of metal have a effect on target depth, example say the Fisher can detect gold at say 6 inches but silver at 12 inches. Thank you.
@ChrisRalph2 ай бұрын
I did a whole video on detection depth - How deep will a metal detector can see is a complex question that depends on many factors like how big the target is, the size of the coil you are using, the mineralization of the soil, etc. To learn more, check out this video I did on the exact question of how deep your detector will go - kzbin.info/www/bejne/iXWWlIahms6eqtE

I wore out at least 10 Goldbugs. The actual Goldbug to was too complicated for a beginner so they recalled it. The Goldbug two is actually just Updated Goldbug. In the pro well we won’t go there. They have not put any technology or updates in many many years very disappointed in Fisher. All the pros used to use them . The best thing about the Fisher is they have the best warranty they will fix your machine pretty much knew matter what you do do it! And get it back to you immediately. These machines are extremely tough you can throw them in the lake river whatever dry them out and they will work . Threshold knob on the back what’s the weakest point of the whole machine not that they wouldn’t fix it immediately and send it back to you that in of course the headphone jacks yeah pretty much all the detectors such a weak spot. Sounds if the detector mix you could pretty much so what kind of metal ZR how many targets you had discriminate Ect. My first goldbug “0000327” I will always have a spot in my heart for the Goldbug they found me many pounds of gold.

The original 19kHz gold bug is completely different from the 70kHz Goldbug 2. The latest version of the GoldBug 2 the threshold knob is on the front, not the back.

patdenney ~I had a Garrett Gold Hunter in 1986. ~What year was your very first Gold Bug? Mine first one was in 1989. I had a Compass Gold Scanner in 1990 which I had some problems with, so I bought another Gold Bug in 1990. But with my Compass Gold Scanner in 1990 I found just under 12 oz. of surface vein gold in bedrock that I hand chiseled it out and put it in my wash basin. I knew it was gold because I switched to the discrimination circuit and turn it up to about 8 and it gave a loud signal so I knew it was not iron or any other trash. Some excitement but a long story…

5DD👈😀👍 Quite frankly I love lightweight and maneuverability and precision small gold capability. Probably ergonomics sets precedence over the capabilities however: Lets start with the basics of shaft design and balance. Notice that a heavy foot places the search coil mass downward. The curved shaft handle places the mass between the elbow and hand. while this results in good control; it is not ideal for an overworked wrist, elbow, or shoulder. A better way is to balance the mass at the hand. Having a straight shaft and an attachment swivel point located above the hand allows the entire mass of the machine to balance neutrally. In this design, one can potentially shift the balance from the foot to the head which allows the operator effortless precision control by simply alternating between a heavy hand and light hand while gravity and balance hold the search coil off / above the ground. Thus the mass is entirely carried by the shoulders. Additionally, the long straight shaft is most ergonomic, keeps the coil at a better sight distance, further away from the feet, and is simpler and cheaper to manufacture.
@ChrisRalph3 ай бұрын
5DD?
@anthonyrstrawbridge3 ай бұрын
@@ChrisRalphI'm thinking about the swing of the coil assembly. I love the lightweight trends. However, I believe the attachment point between the shaft and coil are antiquated as opposed to articulated. The swing motion of the shaft varies greatly with the motion literally resulting in a constant direction change relative to parallel to the ground. A small lightweight bearing attachment results in a pendulum effect and the relative constant perpendicular swing motion is automatically balanced. Limiting the pivot to approximately 5° allows plenty of room for both automatic leveling and tracing the uneven surface features. additionally, The 5° swing will result in an acceleration at the extremes of the swing motion providing both: less stalling ( saturation of the coil) and positive feel relayed to the handler. The current attachment method requires a constant input and feedback to accomplish optimum results.

@@anthonyrstrawbridge my work around for some of the ergonomics and weight problems associated with the older whites metal detectors like the TDI SL, GMT and MXT is bungee ing them to the swingee-thingee... which I have... just haven't got to try it out yet. If some aspect of a gold focused detector is to light, well maybe that can be fixed, but if something is to heavy, we'll maybe it's time to upgrade to a newer modern day metal detector. Please pass on to Fisher features needed in addition to auto ground balance are bluetooth headphones and please make detectors water proof to at least a few feet of submersion. Dectectors get dropped into water, accidently, way to often crossing rivers with bad results afterwards.
@ChrisRalph2 ай бұрын
They are trying to keep it at a low price, and the more features you add, the higher the price needs to be. Bluetooth and water proof would likely add a 50% increase in the price - so I don't think that will be in this new detector.

Always a lot easier to decide you strategy long after the game has been played. Garrett has come put with the Axiom which is a very good PI machine. The monster may have the bulk of the VLF business now but is, like most Minelab detectors, way over priced. There is much room for price competition.

Never found gold with metal detector, but I figured that when it's highly mineralized ground, you have to swing tje coil back and forth continuously in the same location. Because it will beep on anything, but when it beeps few times in a same spot,now you know you got a target.
@ChrisRalph3 ай бұрын
Probably should actually have experience before deciding how something is in the field.
@vahagnmelikyan29063 ай бұрын
@ChrisRalph I'm pretty sure if I'm in the right place I'll find a nugget. I find even tiniest hot rocks, or lead bullet piece size of a grain. I noticed when it's giving lots of noise, false signals by swinging more often it helps me to distinguish if these sudden impulses are actual target. But gold bug 2 is very helpful for finding shallow bedrock for sampling. If I want to drywash in a new wash I would use my gold bug and look for noisy spots, which indicate that I'm very close to bedrock (10inch close) and there is high mineralization and I would scrub the bedrock for sampling. If I see a color than I drywash. And gold big works on some gold veins. Again I would search the walls of the mine that old timers left and I would chisel off the high mineralization spots.
@vahagnmelikyan29063 ай бұрын
@ChrisRalph I tried in Gold basin and vulture mine areas in Arizona gpaa but so far no luck. But I collected few dozen of quartz like rocks that beep. So I'll crush them soon to see if any gold inside.

Thank you, Chris and Russ. It's about time for a Fisher PI. If you want to crush the nugget hunting market Russ, keep the PI around $2,000, the weight no more than four pounds, and toss in a one year GPAA membership with each purchase. Sales will be significant, considering the Axiom is around $4,000, and the GPX 6000 is around $6,000. Detectorists are being spoiled by Nokta and Minelab going at it like Ali & Frazier for the mid-level price market with technology that exceeds what would be $1,200 machine five years ago. Eventually, Fisher needs to look at making a multifrequency VLF in the $500.00 range, the F90. "And yeah, you're gonna get gold...if you buy Chris Ralph's book." Apologies to Jeff Williams.

@ChrisRalph I understand Chris, but if they want to sell a lot of machines, Fisher should look at some of my ideas and those of other consumers. With today's economy and the price of gold, a good reasonably priced PI will capture an untapped market.
