Armin is such a cool character. I received top notch service when I bought my first foil 2 years ago. And now I am sold to Armie foils! And of course kudos to the crazy Swiss hawaiian SUP ambassador 🤙

If foiling is anything like snowboarding, I know there is a learning curve to pass. But one ou pass it, the ticket limitless fun is all yours. Also the cost might be a factor. Where SUP is now pretty much everywhere even cheap options it's super accessible. Foiling is still kind of new and for maybe advanced addition to board sports many are already familiar with. It's a welcome addition though and likely get more interest. Have great gear that makes it easier to learn will definitely help. Glad folks like Armie Armstrong have been hard at work making nice products and allowing foil sports to evolve faster and enabling more people to enjoy foil sports.

Once your hooked on a sport though cost is less of a factor and having the nicer gear matters more and it will be used often. The Armstrong line seems to align with these folks and I'll predict I'll be a customer at some point.

Thanks for the comment the learning curve with foiling is definitely a bit harder to climb than in snowboarding but well worth it.

Foiling is very hard! But once the bug bites you, it’s all over. My SUP’s haven’t touched water in a year. All my free time and money goes to the foiling. Armstrong stuff is expensive, it’s the gear people end up on, not what they start on.

I used to be Armstrong’s biggest advocate But this new ‘A+’ system was a pure cash grab Now we all need new masts and fuses - because Armstrong wanted to revamp the system That’s a minimum 1600$ Armstrong… gouging foilers every which way Rather than start from scratch- I’m going to look into another foil system that doesn’t create new products that render your virtually brand new gear old and incompatible Seriously- no one told me this was coming when I just bought a the 85 cm and 60 cm mast on top of my 72 cm Now I’ve got 3 masts, 2 of them less than a year old that are already outdated That’s just absurd

Thanks for the comment. Maybe we do a video on that. From what I understand the old and new system can be inter changed?

@@StandUpMagazin I was told the old fuselage is incompatible as it requires drilling right through the fuse to make it completely compatible-which is too much of an integrity issue and so it has to be replaced And while you can drill thru the mast- I cant help but think that would weaken it. So Armie is upgrading the A+ system for the benefit of 5% of riders who might need it- while asking the rest of us to weaken our existing gear via modifications because of a handful of riders The way I see it- Armie can take that 5% of the market share and have it-since that’s who he is catering to- quite literally at our expense The rest of us will go find another company who doesn’t switch out their entire product line after a few years What if he comes up with a new design in a few years? I have zero confidence that he won’t do the same thing again I’ve invested at least 10,000$ in armstrong foils, masts, fuses, tail wings and boards- but I’ll be damned if I’m getting this new A+ system or even another tail wing-as much as I’m curious about the Flying V-I’m not gonna buy it on principle

@@bry8636 definitely something to looki into I only have old mast and fuse but new 1125 and that one fits no problem. Sadly can’t test it the other way around. Old wing on new mast

In fact I just realized, that before I lost my foil gear (see video) I had an old 1850 on the new system. Did not drill never would either and it fit just OK with the same 2 screws.

Dude serious over reaction. He’s literally done the upgrade so you don’t have to change your old gear…and no there’s no integrity loss with the holes being drilled. The fuse can be retro drilled but needs to be done by qualified machinist. Because of how he did this tells me he cares about not making us gear obsolete
